Well outside of being too conservative with their playcalling in week 2, the Chiefs have fared pretty well this year given all the injuries they've had. Every game in which the team scored at least 20 points they won the game. Back when Vermeil is coaching they'd score over 30 and still lose half the time. Edwards has done a pretty good job making the Chiefs into a team that can play on both sides of the ball, instead of a team that needs to score 35 points to win games.

I agree. The problem is half his brain seems to fall out of his head come playoff time.

Don't underestimate Jay Cutler, the running game and the Broncos defense.

Seriously.

The Chiefs are clearly one of the top 6 teams in the AFC in my mind.

Herm's done a great job. Can't get too fired up about the defensive turnaround though when you know that Gunther is still the DC. I think the improvement is based on experience and growing rather than Herm.

Well one thing Edwards did was come in and take away playing time from guys who weren't getting the job done. He axed Carlos Hall, and is sitting Ryan Simms on the bench. In their place Edwards and Reed are doing a decent job cloggin up the line of scrimmage. The addition of Tamba Hali has been good as it gives the Chiefs two ends who can create havoc and pressure the QB. Certainly the Chiefs have focused a lot of their recent drafting on defence and seem to have found a few good players. I'm excited about a young core of Allen, Johnson, and Hali.

Also see that Priest Holmes will be inactive for the entire season thanks to a hit from a juiced up cheater Shawn Merriman. But it claims he could come back next year. Would be interesting to see what he has left. But the guys worked his ass off his entire life to get where he's at, and I wouldn't bet against him doing it again to come back and be an effective player.

Priest has kind of turned me off. I appreciate everything that he has ever done on the field for the KC Chiefs and part of my house is a shrine to him. But the way he just hide's down in Texas and never talks to the coaches or staff of the KC Chiefs is kind of mind boggling or down right rude. Larry Johnson is the man in KC now. If I was Carl Peterson I would trade Holmes as soon as he is cleared to play. If there are no takers. I would cut him.

His antics have been a bit strange since he suffered that injury. I do wonder if he'd be willing to accept a secondary role as theres no way you make Larry Johnson into a backup player. The current duo of Johnson and Bennet is fine by me and each guy is playing their role well. But if Priest was willing to accept that he's no longer the go to guy and still has something he'd make a hell of a third down back because he is a good pass catcher and blocker. Still 33 year old running backs don't generally do very well in the NFL. Although Holmes doesn't have quite as much mileage on him as a lot of other backs his age.

Part of me does think it's time to move on, but another part of me doesn't want to see him run in 3 TD's against the team wearing Silver and Black leading the Raiders to a win over the Chiefs.

I think it comes down to $ and the Cap. You can't have his huge salary counting towards the cap when he is playing a backup role. The Chiefs will need to use that money to pay Johnson. Priest probably will be cut or traded once he is cleared to play and is off the PUP list.

I know it is only the third quarter but after watching how easy it was for the Bengals to march down the field and score the touchdown do we still have to hear about Baltimore being one of the best teams in the league?

No way they win in the play-offs with their offense against the good defenses they will face.

I agree.

What a monster division the AFC West is! Three legit Super Bowl contenders all crammed into one division. Man do I feel sorry for Oakland(but not really)

My thoughts exactly when that happened. Im nervous enough during games. I cant even imagine how nervous Id be if we were in the AFC, following the standings.

Well, if we were in the AFC we would be lucky to be .500, the offence would still score, but man the AFC teams have really lit up the defence.

Hey don't try to steal the Lions title. Lions fans have very few areas where their team is the top and when it comes to the joke of the league, we are certainly on top of that list.

Wayne Fontes sucked, but at least they seemed to have a chance to win. Bobby Ross came in, Barry left, Matt Millen was brought in, and the team has been dysfunctional ever since.

Fontes was awesome. I loved him. He was the coach when I started following the team so I will always have a soft spot for him. Millen is a great guy and I wish him all the best inwhateverhe does but he ahs got to go. There is no reason that he wasn't fired two years ago, let alone given an extension. How he made it through last year is amazing and now he probably will get another year again.

I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again. Nobody is better at totally ignoring needs when drafting and replacing mediocore talent with more mediocore talent than Matt Millen. Medicore talent does not win in the NFL, especially not at the QB position.

Eric Mangini and Sean Payton have done a great job with there teams this year but someone who really doesen't get the credit he should is Jeff Fisher. I hate the Titans just because there Indys biggest rival, but I have an absolute ton of respect for the job Jeff's done with the Titans. He's got them playing hard for him every down, I thought he handled the Haynesworth situation with great class and for a team that wasen't suppose to do much, the Titans look like there going to be a contender come next year.

Peyton had a costly pick at the end of the half, if he doesen't throw that it's 14-3 or maybe even more for Indy.
