Took a spin in the Vegas desert this weekend. I love it out here. The locals were freezing at 8C. Felt like summer to me.

I went for a ride yesterday morning and it was -16c here plus the wind and the fresh snow and unproved paths. Made me wish I had a pair of man quads

Mine is "black and blue" in colour. I have 30mm Schwalbe CX tires mounted now but the frame will accept up to 38mm.
I'd be willing to part with it for 500.00.

That's slick. My only concern at the moment is I have a torn ACL at the moment and I'm not sure single speed is the best idea right now... Whatever I get, I'm also putting it on a trainer at times for rehab purposes.

Once again, whoever the city contracts out for the north side of the Bow River from Prince's island over to Nose creek should be cloned and put everywhere. This morning that entire stretch of path beautifully plowed to the pavement, even Saturday morning a pass was already done at 0615 during the snow. Then once you hit the Nose creek pathway you get no clearing, and since the Saturday snow it has been walked all over and is an incredibly bumpy hard packed mess. My arms were numb by the time I got up to 16th avenue.

I put in a couple 311 requests for Nose Creek and Fox Hollow. I got my teeth pretty rattled on my way in just like you. Hopefully will be fixed up by this afternoon.

I don't remember passing anyone there, but I did pass someone as I was fishtailing down Fox Hollow! I wear a solid yellow jacket and I ride a black cx bike.

I was almost hit on the way to work today. I was heading down Ontario, which is a main bike route in Vancouver. There are multiple barriers to entry on cross streets and traffic circles to calm/divert traffic. Today I was in a traffic circle and a van was coming from my right. I had already halfway through the circle and the van hadn't entered it yet. I have a front light, two lights on my back pack, and monkey lights on my front wheel. I wasn't going fast, as the roads are a bit slippery with our minus 3 weather. The van just didn't stop. Fortunately I hugged the circle and was able to veer left into the oncoming traffic lane. The van finally saw me and stopped. I couldn't tell if he was on his phone, wasn't paying attention, or actually wanted to hit me. I was so shocked and in survival mode that I didn't really react besides trying to not get hit. When I got to work I was very angry, and wish I had stopped to yell at him. There are times where I can see things about to happen and I'll stop to discuss how dangerous the situation was. This one was too serious and quick for that.
Stay safe out there, drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Ah we didn’t cross paths then. In the colder temps I’m in orange snow pants so easy to ID me.

Nose creek did get the plow treatment before my ride home yesterday, however Fox Hollow hill is still untouched. At least by this morning enough people have been on it that it has formed a harder track in the middle that makes it somewhat easier to ride on.

Came across this Calgary bike courier on Strava yesterday, I gave him a follow. Pretty cool to see the insane amount of riding he does in a day, and he's already over 4000km on the year:

Looks like he is recording on the Strava Android app, maybe better battery performance in the cold versus the iPhone (I wrap mine up in a pillowcase for the cold weather)? Definitely think a battery booster is in play at some point though.
