With Jagr off the roster, Versteeg not slated to return until March/April at the earliest and Bennett being an empty vessel of offense, the Flames are seriously hurting for puck skills and goals from where they must've thought they'd be right now.
I have to wonder if part of the reason they are moving to get Jagr off the roster temporarily/permanently right now is to address some of the scoring woes on this roster sooner than the trade deadline.
He doesn't need competition, he needs to be injury free and in better shape. I don't think the skill has left him as much as those two things affected him in his games here, and the skills will be there when he has increased confidence. A boost of confidence playing in that lower tier will help that.
He did have 7 points in 22 games, and sounds like a number of those games he was trying to play through somethings...but the stats line is pretty much the same as Versteeg.
So get playing time in and the conditionig that goes with it, and step back in to the lineup at a better place than where he left off, if it all works out.
A healthy Jagr is still an undeniably useful player. I got to see Jagr play in the New Year's game against Chicago. He was still going to the right places, but he was now a full step and a half behind the play, and just couldn't do anything with speed.
It certainly looked like his legs were gone, but if he's truly healthy in a couple months, you can bet Jagr's big ass I want him back here for the post-season.

There are 40mins of main news on the most popular Czech TV channel in total . 15 mins of it was on 68 right from the get go. In main news. Not sport news. Crazy. All upcoming games in Czech 1st league sold out in an hour today. Benatky and Jizerou will play the game in Liberec because there is big arena. Jagr mania is in full force😉😁😁😁

Kladno HC plays in League 1, which is a tier below ExtraLiga.
Was there no team in the higher league who would take him?
Calgaryboy told me that Kladno used to be in the SuperElite and (I'll say rumour has it) Jagr wants it back up there. Since they are I believe 3rd in the 1st league they have a shot at promotion. I'll try and get CB to respond to this when he's up at 3am to watch The Flames game!
Don't lie, you want him to come back to suit up for a game during the finals and set the record for longest time between Stanley Cup wins. And not just because it would involve a Flames cup run.

Jags needs to go play some non contact hockey and heal up, which is pretty much where he is going. I'm still holding out hope he gets healthy and comes back, but I doubt that happens. I got to see him live a few times in a Flames jersey which was pretty cool, but it really sucks if it ends like this.
Can he come back in mid-playoffs? Just spitballing, but if we actually make a run in the playoffs and get hit by injuries, can we parachute a guy like that into the lineup?
