If that blows your mind, did you know that it’s fairly easy to 3D print a fully automatic receiver for an AR-15.

How do you hit anything with that? Find a big crowd and flock shoot I guess.

They had a drive through in Flagstaff when I lived there. Ruff's Guns, Liquor and Ammo. Don't even have to walk in.

There is no "gun show loophole". If you buy a gun from a dealer, they do a background check. Whether it's at their store or anywhere else, you buy from a FFL, you get a NICS check. If you buy across state lines, background check and it goes through an FFL in the buyer's home state; this applies to FFL to private and private to private sales. The only exception is private to private sales in the same state, where no background check requirement exists at the federal level. Some states do require background checks for private sales though.
There’s thousands of these on YouTube

Such (another) horrible tragedy. I just don't know how a nation becomes so desensitized to violence that not only is it tolerated, but defended.

America the lost.

AP retracts their story about Cruz belonging to a white supremacist group after it was revealed they had fallen for a 4chan hoax.

It’s a gimmick in the sense that to a serious shooter they don’t provide any legitimate improvement to the firearm, and they only buy them because it’s a bit of fun to spray a ton of bullets in a couple of seconds. A hunter or target shooter wouldn’t use one because they hurt accuracy too much.

The only person who has a real use for a bump stock is a murderer who wants to put as many rounds as possible into a large group of people. The fact that there was any resistance to having them banned just shows you how broken the gun culture is in America. They won’t even give up a pointless toy to save future massacres from happening.

Just a small side note here.

Shayne Gostisbehere attended the school where the shooting took place this week.

Florida Republicans being a-holes about gun control.

Quote:
It began when a woman emailed Sotelo on Thursday about the latest U.S. gun massacre, at a high school in Florida where 17 people died. The woman, identifying herself as Ginny Baldwin, a parent in King County, asked Sotelo to stop allowing the National Rifle Association to influence gun-control debates through its donations to politicians.

“I’m not saying that people shouldn’t own guns, but the irresponsibility of a few has made tighter gun laws necessary,” Baldwin wrote.

She closed her email by asking: “Please encourage your colleagues to reject funding from the NRA. The American people overwhelmingly support tighter gun regulations. Don’t be complicit in the deaths of innocent children by doing nothing.”

Taking offense at the complicity line, Sotelo replied: “WOW! Just. WOW! Please, do not ever contact me again.”

I saw some of those, and they were great. Sadly the GOP and the Trump administration will simply ignore them.

Well in fairness, now is not the time to be discussing gun control. We need to let Floridians grieve.

Think about it, when Pearl Harbor was subject to a surprise attack on December 7, 1941, did the US declare war on its attackers the very next day, or did it let Hawaii grieve while sending Hawaiians thoughts and prayers?

When airplanes flew into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 were the airplanes grounded until the World could determine the skies were indeed safe to fly, or did we let New Yorkers grieve and send them thoughts and prayers?

Prominent Republican Donor Al Hoffman sends e-mail to Republican leaders (including Jeb Bush and Gov. Rick Scott) vowing not to to give money to any Republicans unless they support a ban on assault weapons.

That's great and all, but it makes you wonder why Hoffman didn't do this after Sandy Hook. Better late than never I guess. At least he's trying.

I read an article today that noted that you have to be 21 in the US to buy a handgun, but you can be less than 21 to buy an ar-15......what do you say to that kind of loophole....

Wait, what??? Are you suggesting a hunter uses an AR-x as a rifle for hunting?

Seriously, that if that is what you are suggesting, that is the dumbest thing I have heard in years. No hunter needs more than a magazine of four rounds to take down their prey. If they do, they should take up hunting prey in the deli section of the local market.

There is no doubt that the bump stock is for fun, but the reality is that it makes an AR a weapon of mass murder if put in the hands of someone with an agenda. But there is the rub, guns can be for fun, or they can be for committing mass murder.
