I know that it would mean breaking up the 3M line, but maybe it's worth a try at some point? 3M hasn't been as out of this world as they had been last season. Maybe switch it up a bit? You can always go back
|
I think sticking Dube with Backlund and Frolik next year might make a lot of sense. Then, assuming nothing else changes, that Bennett-Jankowski-Tkachuk line could be given a whirl. Tkachuk looks capable of carrying a line.

Go look at the prospect ranking from last summer and you'll see who was considering it.

I know Kulak only plays 13 minutes a game and he's a seventh dman but man, I can't think of a time this year where I thought to myself "GODAMMIT KULAK WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!!!"
Very impressed with him this season, should be able to jump to a 4-6 dman next year.

Those two better step up then. Tkachuk is starting to really grow into a bigger role on this team, and pretty soon you'll want him playing 1st line type minutes. I'm not really sure those other two are ready/deserving of that.

There's been a few, and he sat a game as a result, but, really, he's a almost a rookie so no big deal. He's responded well when his game has sagged a little.
By and large I think he's been very dependable. I like his zone exits more than Stone's.

It was the Chicago home-game all over again! Rinne had Monahan's number all night.

Kulak is not a seventh defenseman. He hasn't been for some time now.

You're right, he's the 6th. Point still stands.

Sam Bennett is on a three game point streak. Humble beginnings but I think that his season has turned around. 21 points ain't much after 58 games but I suspect that we will see big things in the next 24.

I prefer my goalies to be unemotional and business-like. Like Kipper of old - save of the century? Mask flip, drink water. Let in a softie? Mask flip, drink water. Flames win? Mask flip, drink water.
Although if Rittich can play as well as Kipper, then just do your thang young man.

One to embody the starters role, one to crave it.

Rittich actually reminds me of Vernon.
Pretty jovial, but there is a fire burning in there. He is a competitor and he sometimes lets it out.

^ Massive save.
Rittich has been a revelation in this role and has looked super solid stepping up.
