I can say first hand that the atmosphere in the Bridgestone arena is amazing. The fans take the game serious but they don't seem to take themselves too serious. They are relentless in serenading the opposing team and especially the opposing goalie. The game I saw was against Anaheim and my disdain for the ducks helped me connect with the fans. After their playoffs with Anaheim last year, the Ducks are loathed in Nashville. The arena has a playoff atmosphere right from the first game of the season.

Monahan is just playing great right now. I thought he was robbed from a few goals on this road trip, including tonight. Fun game to watch!
Is it strange to be happy to see that Rinne got the start. I have watched some games that Saros has played and he is also dominant. IMO Nashville has the best goaltending tandem in the league.

Super happy for Lazar. Such a great guy and it's nice to see him get another goal.

Didn’t get to watch the game unfortunately, sounded like a good one! Very happy with the win, pretty successful road trip.

Tonight's audition was to see if the Flames should move forward with the player they are targeting via trade who would slot in with Backlund and Frolik.

Couldn’t watch the game but heard the last period on the radio, on the Predators feed. They have a sold announce crew and remarked a number of times how impressive the Flames road trip has been. They were pro Nashville but struck me as knowledgeable about the visitors.

Really solid result for the good guys. Important win IMO.

Have you been there? Seems a bit unfair.

I saw the Preds play the Pens in Nashville earlier this year. I talked to a lot of super knowledgable fans. They had just acquired Turris and were talking about the trade and what he'd bring to the table. We also sat next to a couple girls, early 20's, one from Nashville and the other visiting from Tampa and both were very knowledgeable about their teams, they could talk hockey with three guys from Canada no problem. In general the fans would moan about missed calls, waved off icings, close offsides etc to the same degree anyone in the Saddledome would. I found Nashville to be a legit hockey market.

Loved that game! Fast - hard working - great chances - wonderful goaltending at both ends - and the right team won!

Great to see Lazar score - I think he's worked his butt off to be useful to the team. Never seems to have anything but a smile on his face. And Kulak has been steady eddie. Nice to see.

The team stuck with it - that defensive piece of the last 3 minutes was crazy! Don't care that they couldn't score an EN goal - happy that they could tie up the puck, and when Nashville got it, close down the opportunities. Not perfect, but after screwing up, Rittich just made great saves and a "safe play" when he needed to. Suspect he won't do a lot of puck handling again....

It must be hard having Smith as your mentor because he can make those plays look easy but he has been burned so I guess it goes with the territory. Most rookie goalies and even some vets would have folded after that mistake but he bailed out his teammates who were a little loose in the last 5 minutes.

I've seen that line. It's no good.

The more the puck goes in for Lazar, the better he's going to get. Would like to see him brimming with confidence and catch fire.

The calm breakout pass by Kulak on the Jankowski goal was a thing of beauty. Would be nice to see Brodie/Hamonic/Hamilton/Gulutzan take notes on that one instead of just throwing the puck away whenever you fight hard to get it

His puck handling/shooting skills will improve with Smith as his mentor.

Smith backed up Marty Turco and learned the art very well.

Rittich will do the same. I have already seen a change in Rittich's style playing the puck.

Missed the game taking my wife to supper after working a Junior B hockey game last night. Valentine's Day redemption. Glad to see Rittich get the win. I think the Flames have done a good job of drafting over the last while. Crazy to see so much home grown skill on this team.

Great drafting. And scouting. Rittich was free money.

It wasn't an audition, Tkachuk just plays with them after penalty kills.

As much as we get frustrated with the team and coaching staff. GG experimented with Matty and Johnny on the third line and fourth lines in the last 2 games resulting in goals. The first period was the best period Janko has played in the NHL and his goal in the third was slick. These are the games that keep us coming back. And these are the games that show the Flames would not be a desirable playoff opponent.
