Rittich will be our starter in 19-20. If not next year.
The guy reminds me of Mikka in so many ways.

Thought Hamonic was really solid again tonight. Brodie had a pretty good night.

The non-call when Hathaway was cross-checked headfirst into the boards followed by the Hamilton penalty was especially bad.

Versteeg maybe?

who said it wasn't? Was responding to the guy wishing the dome was like that...if the Flames were in first place, defending western conference champs, and sold tickets for half the price, the Dome would be more of a Rockin' environment too IMO
And we would actually know that a puck needs to enter the net to be called a goal

Total team effort. Great performances by every line, every pairing and Rittich was unreal in the final 5 minutes of the game. Well done against a very strong opponent. Inching closer and closer to that playoff spot.

Most nights when you win the special teams battle, you win the game.
Pretty simple.

Nashville games are always a blast. What an exciting brand of hockey. Rittich looks better and better as the games go on. He has that calm cool demeanor that is so important in a goalie. His emergence has been my favorite thing about this season.
I wasn't sold on Huska's coaching staff in Stockton going in to this year. But was I ever wrong, the contributions of the Heat call ups have been the difference this year.

I’m not sure it’s a huge hole.
Bouma, Colbourne, Bennett, Tkachuk have all looked good in that spot. Tkachuk clearly makes it more dynamic but I feel like the gain you potentially get on the Janko line heavily outweighs the loss of effectiveness of the Backlund line.

Shots on goal ended up 32 to 31 for Nashville, but for the first 50+ minutes the Preds only had 18 SOG. Unfortunate that they gave up 14 in the final 9+ minutes — happy they were able to hang on and get the regulation win.

This, how can it be defended in any way other than to say the refs were only calling penalties on the road team up by a goal

Thought refs had a bad night. Glad we took the two points. Most importantly the flames know they can skate with the cream of the crop of the west. We’re that good, now do it more consistently. Nice win.

This is what I was saying...Calgary was dominating until the Rittch mistake and the iffy call that put them up 2 men with the goalie pulled.
Hopefully lesson learned for Rittich...he falls on that puck the Flames win 4-2 with very little push back IMO. Was a MASSIVE momentum swing.

Versteeg will be a nice option once he's back for sure. Until then critiquing the coach because he's not ripping apart one good line simply to weaken it to strengthen another seems odd. This team is lacking a body that can help give us 3 solid lines consistently, that's not a coaching issue.

What a game! Hopefully that carries over and we can get some wins at home now!
