I can only play Belfour somany times without it coming back to bite me in the butt....Belfour got the start today becuase of a small injury to fernandez last game and the worst PK in the CPHL was once again crap and is to blame for the loss.

To make yourself feel better Kris, you should just fire Noob.

Nice to see Patty Elias back in the lineup and get 5 pts! First line was dominant tonight. Denis had an off night for once but Bryz came in and got the win. Game story will be up later tonight.

Spezza does the trick !

For the second straight game against the Blues Jason Spezza scored a hattrick. The Pens built up a 2-0 lead just 1:17 in on goals by Zyuzin and Dumont. That lead held up until the 1st intermission. Then it was Spezza time! Spezza scored 3 straight goals in a span of 7:32 to start the 2nd period to build a 5-0 lead. From their the Pens rode the goaltending of Martin Gerber to a 6-4 win. Marian Hossa added an assist in his last game as a Penguin.

The Devils pull out a squeaker against the Flyers, to further improve their record. Somehow, a tired Khabibulin rescued the team amidst a terribly undisciplined game by the team in front of him.

Devils' PP: 0-4
Devils' PK: 8-9

Canadiens and Leafs face off following the trade that send Ohlund and York to Toronto in exchange for Smith and Cooke. The players involved are still trying to fit in with their respective clubs. Smith scored a goal to tie the game 1-1 in the first period, and took a cross checking minor on Jarko Ruutu late in the third period. Smith was upset that Ruutu had not been called for a spear a few seconds earlier, and was issued a misconduct when he continually tried to get at Ruutu in the final minute of the game.
Cooke played 13 minutes of solid two way hockey, 3 shots on net and an even rating. Ohlund logged the most ice time of any leaf at 27 minutes but was unable to contribute offensively. Like wise York was on the ice for 17 minutes without providing any offense.

The Canadiens managed to salvage the game on a late goal by Keith Tkachuk. At least we didn't hit OT this time. A night off to rest a few tired players and right back at it against the red hot coyotes.

34 SOG and we still lose. Hawks would join the Sabres and Bruins GMs in the hate a thon for the sim, but instead we made a trade.

Might kill us if it doesn't cure what ails.

I do agree it is a ****ing piece of **** sim.

LATE GOAL SINKS BRUINS

David Vyborny celebrates his 9th of the season scored in the third period.

UNIONDALE, NY - Josef Boumedienne, called up last week for the injured Jim Vandermeer scored late in the third to hand the Bruins a 5-4 defeat.

Despite letting four past him in the game, Cam Ward put on a stunning display of acrobatic goaltending Monday evening to help his Islanders to a 5-4 victory over the slumping Boston Bruins.

Ward, who was named the game's third star kicked aside 35 of the 39 shots he faced Monday night as the Boston Bruins nearly eclipsed the 40-shot mark.

"They fired a ton of rubber at me tonight," the Islanders netminder said afterwards, "but sometimes that can actually help a goalie maintain his focus throughout the game."

Looking at the final score, one would predict a fairly even match-up, but in reality, the Islanders were badly outplayed by a dominant Boston team which just can't seem to string a few wins together.

After Robert Nilsson and Kyle Wellwood put the Islanders up 2-0, the Bruins evened the game thanks to markers from Pavol Demitra and Alexander Mogilny in the second period.

Jiri Hudler and Mike Weaver exchanged goals afterwards before Demitra would snap home his second of the game and 12th of the season in the third period giving the Bruins a 4-3 lead with 10 minutes to play in the game.

David Vyborny would tie the game shortly after, beating Jose Theodore with a quick shot through the legs and AHL call-up Josef Boumedienne's 1st of the season with 3 minutes to go sealed the fate for the Bruins.

The Islanders play tomorrow evening against the red-hot Ottawa Senators in Long Island.

Well I didn't figure I would beat the Preds two games in a row - but losing Gagne who had caught fire hurts.

In other news my availability will hopefully improve in the next couple of days.

Well a 3-2 loss to the Flames. To be frank the score was flattering as we were severely outplayed in this one.

I have the biggest offensive game of the season winning 7-3 yet half the team still somehow finished up on the minus side of things. Nedved with 3 goals ends up -2. HAH! Brian Willsie who has been on the 4th line all season was inserted into the injured Mike Peca's spot on the 3rd line and racks up 3 points. Johan Hedberg improves his record and the team continues to win with him in net. Mike Dunham you suck!

Yotes attack Hawks.

Toskala stopped 32 of 34 shots for his 8th win on the season. Mats Sundin was shutdown as he was missing Rucinzky on his line, but the secondary scoring came to the resuce (Ponikarovsky, Johansson & Glumac).

The day after 2 Coyotes went down to injuries the desert dogs do the same thing to the Hawks.

"Chicago can blame Dallas for the injuries, this was just a message to the league to not mess with us." Colin White responding to the criticizm of his boarding call in the 2nd period.

Game Stars
1 - Vesa Toskala (COY)
2 - Mike Glumac (COY)
3 - Jussi Jokinen (HAW)
