What would be the point of washing it out?

In many sports scores are used to qualify for the next round but they are washed out. Like slopestyle today, they all started today from 0.

I get that it is used for qualifying, but to just wipe out the value of the short program from the medals seems strange.

I agree. But it would also be weird if short and long program had equal value (10 points for the winner)

That's a fair point. I suppose it's not ideal either way.

I'm looking online but I can't find out whether points carry over.

For the free skate the lowest points you can get is 6.

This article looks to suggest the scores are combined from short and long.

So Browning is going have to correct himself later.

Also, why would NBC of all websites give local time in Korea? Lol. I mean god love Americans, but a geographical topic would not be their strong suit, broadly speaking.

Edit: 14:15 local time now

If Italy wins this session the bronze is back in play.
