I kind of agree. The person who missed their pick should go to the bottom and then go back to their original spot in round 2. If they miss again, then back to the bottom.

Plus whitetiger, I’m first on the list for round 2 anyway so why is green lantern awarded first pick for missing his turn? He missed his turn so he’s at the bottom of the first round so he automatically gets Desiree, and then he’s 2nd pick in round 2 and if he misses that again then he’s back to the bottom and gets the auto pick for the next one.

Ok. This is what I get for working nights and sleeping during the day.

I have to admit, I've long wondered about how to 'better' the Snake pick, as it did seem kind of unfair to me that if you miss your pick you got the first pick in round 2. I told myself that since this was for-fun and no real money is riding on it (so far as I'm aware, at any rate) that it was pretty unlikely that someone wanted to pick someone so badly that they'd game the system like that.

However, it still did kinda feel unfair.

I really like Puxlut's idea to have the order reset back to it's original order for round 2. As my original backup is kept in the original order...this is actually pretty doable and feels like a fair compromise to me

Since this is a major rule change mid-picking/game, I am going to put the start of picking Round 2 onto hold until Monday, Feb 12 to give folks a chance to talk about this and/or talk to me/voice their concerns to me privately if they wish.

Proposed rule change/addition: At the end of Round 1, picking be held until the order can be reset to the original picking order. This will bring the players who have dropped in Round 1 for whatever reason back to the ORIGINAL location in the Snake Ladder. Once the order has been sorted back out, I will officially start Round 2. We will still start the picking from the bottom of the list and go 'backwards' up to the top for Round 2.

Perhaps I wasn't clear.

While the order would reset, we'd still pick from the bottom of the list up to the top for Round 2. We wouldn't start at the top of the list and go down again.

What? If your at the top and you miss, you go to the bottom. Round 2, you would be going back to your original position which would then be at the bottom, due to the Snake pool. The penalty basically becomes a per round thing. Things happen in life and I don’t any reason to penalize a person for the entire pool just because they were unable to make their first pick.

You realize this helps you get your #1 pick back right?

If I am reading correctly i am agreeing with most who have posted, the draft order originally intended for round 2 should stand.

meaning in round one if you missed the 10th pick, you would end up with the 20th pick then the 11th pick.

If you can't get your stuff together for the first round, you shouldn't have priority for picking in the second round.
If you haven't piped up in the whole first round, that shows your dedication to the game.

I got to pick 1st round #1 and expect to pick last 2nd round, but people should be punished for not picking on time and I should be rewarded. Some of the late people still haven't made their picks, they should get the leftovers.
You have to go to the bottom for both rounds, maybe they won't be so eager and just type "in".
