I don't know much about Leivo but is he someone the Leafs would be looking to get rid of for free? Because at this point that's essentially what we'd be offering with Porier or Wotherspoon.

Not exactly sure, but he requested a trade and I wouldn’t expect a big haul for him considering how many players are on the market

Yeah regardless of what you may personally believe about those guys, they get you what Eddie Lack and Keenan Kanzig get you. We should have a list of players who went through waivers and a list of those who undoubtedly would clear waivers and then prohibit their mention in trades for actual NHL players.

I don’t know much about Leivo either though. Maybe he’s about to go on waivers.

Well, it's natural to want to trade one of our better young assets for a player we don't need.

Because some people are convinced that if the Flames move Hamilton then Brodie would naturally move back up to play right side with Gio. Some people are so obsessed with something that will never happen because.. well Brodie just isn’t that good anymore and people can’t get that fact.

They would rather hurt the team by trading its 2nd best Dman and breaking up one of the most dominant pairings in the nhl to fulfill a pipe dream.

He's a good player with a lot of offensive skill. The Leafs just signed him for 925k next season. Prior to this season he was putting up points at a .5 per game pace but was never given a chance to stay in the lineup.

If he is traded the Leafs want a pick. The problem the Leafs have is too many wingers on the roster and no spots for them.

Soshnikov is another guy who basically has to be traded or they make room for.

That second line would give the opposition nightmares! The only issue is who plugs the hole on LD.

Smith doesn't really help us. If he does, it's an extremely marginal improvement to the bottom six.
 Go big or go home!

Leivo plus a decent pick might be a good trade for Stone, which could potentially help both teams.

They won't put him.on waivers. That's why he's been rotting in the press box all season. The Leafs don't want to lose him on waivers.

It's a strange situation. The Leafs projected him in the expansion draft. Then barely played him. Then re-signed him for next year. Then continued to sit him.

No thanks. Leafs don't need bottom pairing D. In the last couple weeks it has become.clear they have young guys that can fill those holes. They just had to send down Holl who looked great in his two games.

If an extremely marginal improvement gets us into playoffs we have to do it. Not a sexy acquisition but if end result is we make the post season you have to do it.

Derick Brassard would be an interesting target. Solid playoff performer for the Rangers, and last season with the Sens

And a centre who is a left hand shot. I don't see a fit on this team at all.

Should be looking a top six RW with a right-hand shot. That's it.

Not a deadline target, but CGY should target James van Reimsdyk this summer.
