I don't know, but I think it's time we tried Hamilton with someone else. You never know, it may add to his defensive development, instead of relying so much on Gio.

Brodie MIGHT fetch a second round pick. Thinking he’d get us a first or what Hamonic brought is nothing short of delusion.

Brodies value has went down, I thought earlier in the season he could get us Marner. Not so sure now with GG bringing his value down playing him on his offside. But i bet if he is traded he regains his old form.

Brodie for Hoffman could be a deal if the Flames want to go there IMO. Not that I'd necessarily do that.

That's what I think too. Which is why I would fire Gulutzan before trading Brodie.

Yeah this team needs a better coach in the end. The whole team would pick it up.

It’s not what we think he is worth, it’s what other teams think he is worth, and that is dependent on the role he is expected to play. I would say he is a second pair defenseman on most teams in the league, and probably a number four on good teams. So probably a similar defenseman, or a second/third line forward, or a package of 2nd or 3rd round draft picks. You might get lucky and have someone cough up a late 1st, but I think that might be pressing things. Brodie should have been dealt before the season started, like as soon as Stone was resigned and Vegas was in a selling mood for some of their defensive depth. Timing is everything.

You people ####ting on Brodies value realize Roman fricken Polak went for two 2nd round draft picks as a rental right?
But yeah Brodie will get 2nd and 3rd rounders in return. Sure.

If you haven't already do yourself a favour and spend the $50 (if you can afford it) to get access to the athletic. Kent Wilson provides a pretty convincing argument that TJ's fall from grace started long before he was forced to play on the left, GG was hired, and he was moved away from playing with Gio.

I would consider paying to view the athletic due to Duhatschek’s work.
I won’t say anything about this other guy’s work except that I saw his post on CP where someone offended him and hurt his feelings, and will give him that he works hard.

If Brodie gets traded, people on this board are going to be very disappointed at the return.

I disagree, and here's why: He won't be traded if the return isn't good enough. He's worth more to the Flames than a trade for trade's sake.

I love Brodie's assertive, take control attitude. Does he often make mistakes...yeah, but he just keeps on doing his best. Having someone like Gio to play with was ideal for both of them. It gave Gio and Brodie the chance to share the burden of being the go to player.
When Hamilton and Gio are alone in the defensive end, the usual move is for Hamilton to pass to Gio, so he can make the outlet pass. Either that or Hamilton fires the puck up the boards, and more often than not the opposing team ends up with the puck.
I think Hamilton needs to be challenged more. When his brother left the team, and the coach called out the players to check the standings and threw his stick, Hamilton responded by scoring key goals. It was obvious the coaches words were on his mind, because Hamilton brought up the standing thing in one of his interviews.

Laughable post and clearly you are delusional.
27 year old Dman that can play both sides, elite skater, multiple 40pt seasons, on pace for 38pts this year, signed for 2 more years at $4.65M
Everything about Brodie should shownhe has more value than Hamonic did last year.

Brodie is an an absolutely terrible and has been for two years now. It’s not 2014 when we thought we had one hell of a future star. Not sure what happened, but his offence is non-existent, he’s a complete liability on D, has zero hockey IQ, and needs to play with a Norris Candidate to cover up the large holes in his game.
Thinking any team in the league would pay a first for him is Oiler fan level of delusion. He’s the 6th best dman on his current team. I’m willing to bet Rasmussen Anderson would be a huge upgrade on Brodie on the 2nd pairing if he was given a chance.

Yeah for all the hype Treliving got out of the Kris Russell trade...how do those assets look today?
Bodie for a second rounder is laughable.

It's funny to see people so convinced of a particular reality of their choosing. Thank god this league is run by professionals not the nut jobs on online forums.
