What is T.J. Brodie's value?
This was originally a PGT but I'm gonna convert it into something else, to continue the debate from the GT.
What do you think T.J. Brodie is worth?

Late first (20-31) & at least a second +.
Or a top 6 winger who is similar age/contract. I think Tyler Johnson.

A mid first and a second or a young top six winger.

Hockey trade IMHO I think he’s a long shot at high end picks/prospects type deal and more likely swapped for a comparable type player in a hockey trade.
E.g. Brodie for Galchenyuk or Brodie for Kane
That’s just my opinion

Kane doesn't make sense. UFA status won't interest the Flames (at least not for Brodie) and Sabres would have more interest in a younger Flames D ie:Anderson or Valimaki. In that case Flames should walk away.
Same goes for Montreal. If they are about to start a rebuild, they would want a prospect.

Problem with trading Brodie is we don’t have a #2 left handed defenseman who’s ready to step in and fill the position. Not sure if Kulak is going to be that guy as he was scratched tonight. Rasmus Andersson is the most NHL ready defenseman we have in the minors and he shoots right. Adam Fox shoots right and Valimaki was just drafted and will likely need time in the minors to develop a pro game.

TJ Brodie's value is a cup run for whomever fleeces Treliving in a trade for him to get him away from Gully and Co.

You're right. This is why the Flames likely stand pat until the offseason.
They do have a logjam at D. Something has to give sooner or later.

If Larsson could get Hall, I think Brodie can land a top 6 forward.

Nope, just not dumb enough to confuse +/- with poor value

That's a rather... backhanded reply.
I'll see myself out.
