Gulutzan on Jankowski: "His game hasn’t been up to standard for me. And it’s good when you have a young guy that’s trying to get his footing in the league and trying to be a longtime NHL player, sometimes it’s good for them to sit back and watch. He’s going to do that tonight.”

Incidentally Flames 11 game point streak ended when Jagr was waived, Janko has fallen off, Smith has dropped off. Better bring him back.

It's the 2nd half of HNIC, although the Bolts/Canucks is the marquee game.

Looks like SNW, SNE, and SNO are all carrying the Flames/Hawks in Canada, which of course probably means that it'll be blacked out here in BC, knowing my luck. God I hate that regional restriction crap.

Always the second half of HNIC unless they play out east.

You never get blacked out on nhl.tv. only if they play Vancouver.

If you're a flames fan living in BC and don't have Center ice or Game Center, you're doing it wrong.

What a dumb comment. This is the kind of crap players avoid Canadian markets for. There's dissatisfaction with players and then there's wishing ill will on them as people. Joking or not it's just stupid.

I wonder if a few games in the NHL last season would have helped Jankowski? I thought so at the time, giving him something on which to focus over the summer.

I don't mind giving him pressbox time at all right now.

The 'Hawks are struggling offensively, and Q has gone to the Ultra Line Blender to finds some magic...I haven't seen a Chicago source with probable lines, but, one has reported AA to WING with Schmaltz/Kane

Line 1 (but really line 2) Duclair Toews Debrincat (only Debrincat has been any good lately)
Line 2 (but really Line 1) Anisimov Schmaltz Kane ...With Schmaltz at C and AA at LW for the 1st time this season
From here it is guesswork, as Who knows what the Blender will spit out

Line 3
Hartman Kampf Wingels (lately)

Line 4
Hinostrosa (has bounced up to line 1 often) Bouma Jurco (Could be Sharp at C or LW with Hinostrosa filling the other, if Bouma is a scratch)

Probable forward scratch Sharp (he seems done, it was a nice career)

Defense (this, again has been mix and match)
1st Pair Keith Oesterle
2nd Pair Forsling Kempny (wouldn't be surprised to see Rutta dress for Kempny, although Kempny leads the team in +/-)
3rd Pair Murphy Seabrook (Gustafsson might dress for either, Seabrook has been a slow, turnover machine this year)

Glass has the Net...Rebound control, IMO, is why the guy has been a career minor leaguer...although Forsberg has not been much better.

If you get a chance, look at a shot chart from the Vancouver game from Thursday. The 'Hawk D has been TERRIBLE at denying quality chances.

Also, 'Hawk fans are praying that we get NO power plays...we are far more likely to give up a SHG or a wretched odd man rush against that we are to score a PPG...The other night the 'Nucks got a 2 on 1 against Debrincat, the only man back in a 4 forward set that was caught on the ice when the Vancouver guy came out of the box!

This is NOT the 'Hawks you are used to. 10 of the forwards on the roster weren't on the roster 2 years ago. Only 3 of the D-Men on the active roster were NHL regulars, even last year. And the 2 goalies are rooks with less than 10 career wins COMBINED.

I'll be around to take whatever abuse that my team earns for me...but, THIS Chicago fan recognizes a rebuild "on the fly" with the way the current team is constructed.

Good Luck to you and your guys...catch you at game time.
You’re the ultimate example of how to be as a fan on an opposing teams message board. If only Oiler and Canuck fans could have even just a sliver of your character.

Hopefully this adds some much-needed perspective to the scene around here. Flames are struggling, obviously but the games go on and with them comes the chance for redemption.

I am ready to back the Flames and have fun doing it.

No problem at all with having Jankowski sit a game. He has been struggling lately, and a night off can be really helpful for rookies.

Harder to get behind the Bartkowski insertion, but Kulak and Stone did have a really bad game Thursday. Hopefully this is just a single day off to let him regroup.

I thought Brouwer had his best game of the year in the last one. Hope he can build on that.

And Lazar has been getting better with each game - the confidence seems to be growing. It feels like that 1st goal of the year is imminent.

Please for the love of God play well and don't give the Hawks something to feel good about.

@topfive...Having been a Cubs Fan and 'Hawks fan since 1965, one learns humility...I never even saw a Chicago Championship (Being too young to remember the '61 'Hawks or '63 Bears) until the Bulls incredible run., then the early 2000s were painful for all the teams involved (especially the Bears blowing a lead in the SB). But, winning or losing with grace is simply the nature of sportsmanship...at least for my generation. (that is, I'm an old SOB that has seen more losing than winning!).

On the two teams you mentioned, I was irritated that the 'Hawks facilitated the Canucks getting the Twins...the could have rotted in Sweden for all I cared. And I equate tanking for lottery balls as equivalent to game fixing, so, the Oil, IMO, are a criminal organization. (and to those that say the 'Hawks "tanked" for Toews and Kane, there is a difference between actively trying to lose and having an inept and Byzantine front office/ownership...)

I just want an Around The League Report! I've gotten 4 out of 5 chicken dinners today so I expect a 4-1 win.

I still feel like he's the root of all of the team's problems. Guy's the third highest paid forward on the team and he doesn't care and doesn't try and still has an A and PP time

Who wants to give their all when you have a guy like that around
Have you even watched a game lately? Brouwer has been fine. And he got back one the powerplay for a whole game after being off of it since at least Christmas.
