Jankowski has been brutal lately no problem with the scratch.
Hopes are not high for tonight even though they should win

I'm honestly trying to figure Gulutzan out. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt. I just don't understand. It's one thing to shake things up, but to go with a more veteran lineup given how much they've failed him this season...is Gulutzan a masochist?

Who is Joel Mann and why do we care what he says?

I cringe when I see Bartkowski going in, but it's certainly not a Calgary thing to rotate the 7th defenseman in once and a while ... plus the third pairing hasn't been great in 3 of the last 4 games.
Ick though.
Jankowski and Bennett have certainly lost their lustre so I'm not surprised one is coming out ... Bennett has made more visible mistkaes, but also had more jam.
Powerplay ... I was looking forward to the new look from practice so I get the reaction. They may want to work it through some more practices first though? That could be the reason. That or it simply didn't work in practice.

Flames played quite well offensively last game. Hopefully they keep that mentality going. Make plays, use the middle and attack.
IMO they struggled a bit with just controlling the puck in their end, mishandles led to increased zone time. I'm expecting a bounce back goaltending effort.
What I don't want to see is a return to the boring play for a 2-1 result that stifles the offensive talent on this team.
TB game with better goaltending and they are good.

If any D-man should sit out tonight, it should be Stone. He's been brutal for the last 3 games.
Basically ever since Jesse Puljijarvi made him look silly in that Oilers game, he's been quite bad.

Don’t even know why I’m going to the game tonight.
Thanks GG for burning a year on JG and Mony contracts.
And now I want Treliving gone at the end of the season along with his loser coaching staff. And King.

Maybe Brouwer will run his car off the road on the way to the Dome.

I didn't see the lineup changes. This has hallmarks of Gulutzan wanting a low scoring, grinding game. I could be wrong but from his post game he didn't like the 'track meet' style game that produced 45 shots on goal.
It will interesting to see if they return to the chip pucks deep offense compared to make plays at the offensive blue line from Tampa game (Tkachuk's play on the Backlund goal).
If true, it's folly IMO because the Tampa game just had an off night from the goalie. The attack produced 4 goals and many dangerous chances. But again, I might be wrong in assessing what the lineup changes mean.

I want to be positive, but these guys keep finding new ways of shooting themselves in the foot, and are far too fragile to recover. Couple that with Gully hockey and the questionable coaching, and I have a bit of trouble seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Those roster and lineup choices are unbelievable. I still think the Flames win tonight but they certainly aren't doing themselves any favors. So strange.

Flames have lost 6 in a row, any coach would attempt a shuffle.
Jankowski has been extremely quiet for a while now and Kulak and stone had some terrible stats in that tb game.
I'm fine with the change. Hopefully both guys use the night off as a reset and come back hungry.
Unfortunately, it does leave the flames not playing their best roster, in a crucial game. However, the team doesn't really have anyone to blame but themselves for the predicament they are in.
