Don't read the comments of that article, its gross, its a bunch of fans justifying what Bertuzzi did to Moore and basically laughing at his fate.
I'm glad that Bertuzzi got the help that he needed and is on the road to recovery and a better life.

I think the warning of "Don't read the comments of article" should apply to anything that has ever been posted on the internet....ever.
It is literally the worst think about the internet

You realize that this forum is essentially one big comments section?
And that this thread is specifically comments on an article?
Just ironic, is all.

He broke an unwilling combantant's neck. That's not being unfairly maligned as a brute.

Boo hoo Todd. You had the opportunity to make right on your mistake and decided to be a prick. Offering Moore $350,000 two years after the ordeal showed his true colours. Intentionally insulting the guy like that while he's struggling in life. Meh, sorry if I don't feel like Bertuzzi is the victim here.

I'm glad these NHL vets are opening up about this. For every one of them there are probably 5 career minor league players suffering without the same support network.

The worst post here is better than the best comment on a ten/ESPN/snet story that allows them

I've never like him as a player, but I do hope he got the help he needs and get better, and it's courageous of him to admit he needed help.

That's still up for debate even after the court cases. Was ot him or thw extra 1000 poumds of man who dog piled on him?
He was found guilty that his actions lead to a chain of events that hurt Moore not that he himself crippled him.
Second part.
Dosen't really speak about him as a person . Thats ehat happens when lawyers get involved. You also don't want to admit 100% guilt when that is in doubt. The first response covers that.

Doesn't matter. It was a heinous bull#### act by Bert. That's what matters.
And the amount that Bert offered Steve Moore as compensation was an utter joke.

If you have ever played elite hockey you would know it gets too damn competitive. Some parents take it to a new level. I think some of these NHL dudes are coming out that's where it starts.

This is opinion not fact. We saw this for decades and even once and a while still.
Your second point is covered under my second point you choose not to include in your post. It could be argued that Moore himself set the chain of events off by deleverimg a hit not permissible within the rules of the game. I dont advocate that postion just showing opinions differ 8n the court of public opinion.

How is the fact that Bertuzzi committed a heinous act an opinion? He contributed to breaking Moore's neck. That is a heinous act right there.
There's no getting around that regardless of Bertuzzi's actual intent.

Fair point. But did Moore cripple Markus Naslund with his dirty hit? Nope.

Re read my post that was edited when you were postimg.
By that logic every man who dog piled on him contributed to his broken neck theoretically

And we dont know if Bert did either to Moore. Thats why it is up for debate. Had no one dog piled on we would have a clear answer.
Now with what we know about concussions he may have .
Like I said. He started the chain of events but no one made any of the other players recklessly pile on top of the two.
I for one am very glad vets like Bert are openimg up about issues like this either way.

Im OK if Bertuzzi has nightmares each night about ruining Steve Moore’s life. Bertuzzi cant take back what he did and fix Moore’s life and hockey career so this would give a daily reminder of his actions.

Was scary good in his prime. Probably the league's top power forward for a couple seasons.
Glad he's getting help.
