Is this suppose to be a insult towards your City's mayor?? Libraries should be publicly funded. They do more to advance the overall health of humanity than a ####ing arena.
Comments like this show exactly why we need more libraries with good asthethics and up todate equipment.

Its not like they gave up goals because of it...4 of the 7 goals really had no business going in. The other two? banged in on the PP and lucky deflection

It was a pretty ####ty one was my point. If you visit the new library you might be able to come up with a much better insult.

Isn’t a coach much like any leader or manager? The ultimate test is your ability to work with different personalities and bring out the best in people? Not that the structure and x’s and o’s aren’t important, but seems like that’s not as hard as a skill to find.
Not to say it’s all about timeouts or pulling goalies but I suppose that is a small part of it.

I’m done with this years team. It’s over McMahon. Go Flames ! But my expectations are gone. Joke how they’ve played since the bye week.

Listen to this guy, on the overtime call in, stating he wouldnt trade Monahan for McDavid. I swear some people have no hockey insight or sense.
Some of the rhetoric spewed on the show is insane.

Bennett was friggin terrible tonight guys.
Was the the worst flame on the ice? looked like it to me. Far and away the worst.
Why is no one talking about this? Friggin' terrible out there. Line killing, team momentum killing levels of suck from him in the last 5-15 games.
That crosscheck/high sticking penalty was one of the dumbest penalties I've ever seen.
You want a goat tonight, go ahead and blame smith I guess, but for me it was Bennett. -2, his terrible defensive zone turnover leads directly to the game tying goal. Finishes a -2 on the night, 1 shot, 2 pims.
1 shot, an absolutely idiotic penalty 26 seconds into the game that eventually lead to the flames going down 5-3...What a disaster. What an absolute disaster flames management has allowed this Bennett situation to become.

Hey, I work in Cancer research. Maybe I should channel my rage over yet another loss and put in a little overtime tonight.

We would win the Cup with Mcdavid if we were a lottery team. Some people way overvalue some players on this team.

So the early penalty that they killed and then recovered from to go up 4-2 led to them being down 5-3? Which must have happened after they were up 4-3 after 2.
Wow. There is a lot to unpack there.

The Flames scored 4 goals against the best team in the NHL and throroughly outplayed them. Mike Smith let in 6 goals and I'd say 5 of them were unbelievably awful. He blew it tonight, that's pretty much all there is to say.
I am by no means a Gulutzan fan, but to say we lost this game because he didn't call a timeout or pull Smith earlier is absurd. Rittich let in an absolute stinker as well, he didn't exactly come in and play lights out. It's easy and often correct to rag on the coaches, but tonight is not the right night for that. Mike Smith cost his team the game tonight. That's pretty much it.
Now, having said that, I loved the emotion Smith showed after he was pulled. Dude is a competitor. I'd bet my entire savings that he comes back and has a great game Saturday.
They're showing signs that they're about to break out of this slump. It was a good night in the OOT too. No need to panic quite yet.

Probably the first time since Brent Sutter or the lockout season I have skipped a Flames game and not really cared about the result. I had more fun sucking for Reinhart/Ekblad/Bennett/Draisaitl than I have most of this year and last.

If we could get someone to take a package of Bennett and brodie for something substantial we should do it before people realise that they've turned back into pumpkins already

You would be 100% correct if there was no such thing as the internet, people went there and the libraries are used as they are intended, I was in memorial park a couple of years ago on a weekday afternoon and I bet there was no more than 15 people in there. IMO we have plenty of public libraries to serve every area of the city and just about every school has one, this Nenshi $250 million super library is not only not needed it's just another project to waste tax dollars by the king of waste.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming:
Flames = suckage

You don't pull him after the 5-4 softy either. It's still a game that they could come back in. And you don't call the timeout there either. You're down 1, you need to bank it for the late surge.
This is not on GG tonight.
|
OR...
After the 4th goal, you recognize that a mentally fragile team has just blown a third period lead for a SIXTH straight game and that now might be a good time to call a timeout to re-focus. An OBVIOUS coaching opportunity was missed.
And anyone who thinks that leaving Smith in after the 5th goal was a good idea, well...
