They won games. I would take a snooze fest win over the #### we have been getting lately.

The point was that someone said they gave up.
I didn't see that from them tonight.

I get it....firing the coach makes everybody feel good.
It also empowers the players to know they arent held accountable and someone else will pay for their poor play.
I dont mind changing things up if it isnt working. However, the replacement has to be a better option. There MIGHT be one or two of those guys out there and available right now. One or none of them may want to coach this team.
Its just so "simple" to scream "fire the coach" but there is a lot that goes into that as it is a major decision that ripples throughout the organization along with the league.
Im of the opinion that a change may be necessary here, but Im 100% sure this club as constructed is no more than they have shown. Changes need to happen personnel wise among the players as much as anywhere from top to bottom.

They deserved better. The list included were minor quibbles I had with GG's decision making, but they weren't offered as THE REASON for the loss.
As for being a "hack", that's your opinion I guess. I have dedicated years of my life to studying the game in great detail, both in terms of statistical analysis and scouting. I have hand counted stats and created my own databases to aid my writing. I have contemporaries and former peers contributing in front offices and I have been interviewed by analytical departments for input into advanced stats. I'm a published writer, and a former chief editor of a network of sites that are now some of the largest independent sports sites in Canada.
I'm certainly not perfect and not always right, but I put a lot of work and effort into my work and I stand by it.

Good on you, Kent. Keep doing what you do.

Did anyone actually get off their feet and cheer when news broke that GG was hired?
I remember that day well. "Why did we just hire a mediocre guy with a mediocre record from the Canucks?"
I don't think he ever really inspired confidence in fans from the start.

What about losing to two of the worst teams in the league, because that happened not so long ago too.

Weak answer bud.
You don't realize the fact that Tippett had to have his Coyotes play that style because they were very devoid of offensive talent, so they had no choice but to play that way.
Someone mentioned in another thread a while ago that when Tippett coached the Dallas Stars, they were actually a much more exciting up-tempo team, so chew on that one for a bit.

I don't ever want to hear anyone comparing Mike Smith to Mikka Kiprusoff in the same conversation again.
The Flames still need to find a #1 goaltender.

Yes - as I've noted above and elsewhere - I agree with you those are bad losses which should keep mgmt awake at night.
