Default Parkour/Free Running... that guy in the opening scene in Casino Royale

I've been meaning to post something about this for a while, I watched Casino Royale this afternoon (awesome movie btw) and noticed it was Sebastien Foucan was started something called Free Running.

I saw a documentary on Parcour, or Free Running, a year or so ago and it featured the fellow from the Bond movie and some of the other "stars" of the sport and how it was growing in popularity all over the place of late.

Have to say it is a fascinating thing to watch - especially because of the element of danger inherent in it. I mean, c'mon - they are jumping off buildings, running up bridge supports and stuff - it's insane but really cool to watch.

I think we will see this turning into more of a "real" extreme sport than just an off-the-wall (literally!) hobby in the next few years and I really can't wait - it's like watching the birth of skateboarding or moto-cross.

Agreed, I think it's going to be like skatboarding in the future.. some company will develope a "Free Running" shoe and it will explode in popularity.

The documentry I seen was either Jump Britan, or Jump London, on PBS.

This guy is really good, an acrobat. I worked as an Ironworker [climbing and walking high steel] for many years and understand a little of what he's doing. Great feeling when you're in the zone.
