Default any CSI fans? need help with a song

it's a song from the latest episode, the one with the mob hits. it starts playing right after they find the second body (the one strangled in the hotel room) and plays as Sanders sifts through the bones discovered in the car. song has an acoustic guitar and what sounds like an electric organ, but no vocals

it's a stretch, but i can't find a list of songs the show uses anywhere online (which really sucks as there have been a few more i'd like to know). hopefully the CP magic can work again

EDIT: well after a bit more searching i managed to find an awesome site by the name of tunefind.com that lists songs used by various TV shows and the song is The Island by The Decemberists, so i guess this thread no longer serves a purpose

haha... thats cool... but being in University Residence, I have no... personal TV... so can't really watch CSI since nobody else on this floor watches it... I am actually thinking about buying the seasons... I think it might be worth it.

That song is a three part song that lasts 12 minutes and it's on the new album The Crane Wife.. It's incredible.

The Decemberist are actually a pretty good band. A couple of my favourite songs by them are We Both Go Down Together and The Mariner's Revenge Song. If you like their sound, I would definitely recommend those songs.

I agree, that album is an incredible piece of work. At first listen I was a little unsure, but once I got into the meat of the album I was taken away by the scope and beauty of it.

To be honest, I can't get the images that it creates out of my head. The whole band and disc has an air of history and importance around it (perhaps largely due to the name they have taken on as well as what they chosen to call the disc). The Crane Wife is a hauntingly sad Japanese tale, and I think it was a great choice.

I can't get over how much I like this sound - it feels like something special.

Kermit, I know that you and Rockstar in another thread mentioned the new Muse album...

What are your thoughts? Overall, it feels like a great piece of work, but like with all Muse albums, though while they are brilliant there always seems to be a few rough patches where you wonder about the choices they made.

Great disc though, I have listened through it more than a handful of times.

I call The Decemberists music for English majors.. My mom is a PhD in English and I gave her A Maritime Revenge Song and she'll listen to it for about 3 hours at a time.. just THAT song, maybe Eli The Barrow Boy every once in a while. The stories that they paint with the songs are just incredible though.

As for Muse. It's good. I think it's about on par with Absolution, which is good because it's a good album, not great but good. I love listening to Knights of Cydonia though. That was the first song I heard off of Black Holes and Revalations, and I really liked how it totally rocked at the end.

Favourite Muse song is their cover of Feeling Good though.. It just sounds amazing. I heard a mixed version of it on Saturday that incorporated the original and the Muse version and it was amazing!

Having a grasp of on English literature is without a doubt a great aid to appreciating what they are doing as a band. It helps to understand the depth at which this band is taking their musical talents.

They haven't become big enough yet to worry about them becoming self-aggrandizing either, which is always a plus

But with an album name like 'Picaresque' and T'he Crane Wife', you know that they aren't worried about their material going over some people's heads.

I've never heard it before, I will have to search and give it a listen.

Hopefully Muse will be coming to Vancouver soon after their European tour, but with those guys you never know.

The Decemberists on the other hand will be here in a little over two weeks, and it should be a fantastic show.

Thank you so much, I appreciate the link.

Well you know, I just checked ticketmaster, and it's not to late still to get a ticket; $35 to watch an amazing band at an outstanding venue like the Commodore will be well worth it.

One of the best shows I have seen in the past few years though has to be the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Orpheum Orchestra buliding. That show is right up there with NIN/QOTSA show.

I am hoping that the deftones come back as well to tour their new disc Saturday Night Wrist, which I really enjoy (a lot less white noise and a lot more 'spacey' sound, which does them more jusice).
