I remember him when I was a lurker and I'm not moon.
but if people like to assume things that suit their narrative, not much to do about it. not like I can prove it either way.
maybe a mod can confirm I'm not, due to the verification process to become a member.
but I've seen with other people, that posters will believe what they want to believe in regards to someone's identity.
I have nothing against slava , but in this case I think he's blinded by his feelings towards the accused, and seems to want to brush off the accusations.
transplant, you have very firm views on how the #metoo type stuff is playing out and that's cool. I have concerns with some of it too as it does seem to be too easy to ruin someone's career with lies.
but I think in this case there seems to be enough confirmation coming out that makes Hehr unsuitable to be a minster in government. he's not a criminal, but he should be held accountable for his actions and behavior.

Almost surely I am. I'm biased because I know the guy. There is no debating that this influences me, and honestly being completely objective is tough for me here. I think that's normal. But, I don't deny that if it's a friend of mine accused, my reaction is different than someone I don't know. So yeah, I'm guilty as charged there.
I think that the damage is done though. Regardless of whether he is suitable to be a minister or anything else, he won't get back into cabinet and won't be re-elected. I think that is a real shame, because agree or disagree with his politics, the guy is a well-meaning person.

Yeah, I take that back as it was obviously a bit of a low blow on my part.

I think maybe this JT stuff should either have its own thread, or go in the other abuse thread. It's getting bogged down by this moon stuff now.

The moon pulls the oceans into tides, you think we can stop it from pulling a thread off course?

Is there more to the JT story than just this one speculative tweet?

I don't think anyone is agreeing or disagreeing with his politics here, Slava. There's a slightly bigger news story that has people upset.

tough topic for people especially when you know them.
trying to balance what's right vs. what people feel is right, and not getting lost in the mob mentality.
we're in strange and uncomfortable times.

Yep, nothing says well-meaning like abusing a position of authority to lech on and grope women (allegedly).

Well the groping allegation is basically farcical. Kent doesn't grab anything, let alone people. He has very limited use of his hands, and I just find it ludicrous that this would even come up. His overall motor control of his arms is poor at best, and people who have spent time with him would know how ridiculous this.
Anyway, my thoughts on this are well-known. It's pointless for me to continue defending him to people who have already made their decision.
