Lol, I mean ya but thats not who I was getting after. Point being I like to see the best player in a trade come back to the Flames. I think Brodie is a more valuable asset than Hoffman so I dont do that trade.

I expect more than one goal from Stajan. Hell even Jagr only potted one in 22 games. Only two from Hathaway. Three from Versteeg in 22 games. Three from the $4.5 million dollar man (Brouwer). Six isn't good enough from Bennett and quite frankly only nine goals is not very good from Backlund when Hamilton and Gio have 8/9. It's getting really old seeing the same whipping boys singled out for a team-wide issue.

I doubt we could get Kucherov for Brodie. In fact, not likely at all. Kucherov is one of the best players in the league.

I agree but I think Hoffman and Brodie are pretty equal in value. Hoffman can score goals and would be a great add on the PP. Brodie....is a nice guy? Come to think of it, if we could get Hoffman for Brodie, I would do it in a heartbeat, I don't know what Brodie even brings to the team anymore.

Umm, yeah. That's why he said that's not gonna happen, because Kucherov is too much better than Brodie is even with as good as Brodie can be.

It’s still a weird comment because no one was intimating that we could get Kucherov or anyone in that vicinity for Brodie.

I honestly would be more willing to trade Bennett if he didn’t have the nasty edge to his game.
I think he and Janko should be broken up right now you can see both have lost their confidence.

Is there a player who went in the top 5 that was a late bloomer? The only player that comes to mind is Nino Niederreiter

Well gosh damn it. That...just...sucks.

Yeah, lazar sucks just like those other guys, but he sucks just a little bit more.

Fair point. I'm likely stuck on his conditioning issues and how down on him the Jackets seemed to get. Nevermind.

Bad trades mess up value both ways. Just because an idiot traded Taylor Hall for Larsson doesn't mean that's repeatable this year. Most trades for a Stone Caliber player are closer 1 for 1s (Johanson-Jones, Subban-Webber, etc)

I know no one was saying we could get any of those guys but when you said something along the lines of "I'd want to get a better player" I used hyperbole to make a point, I'd love to get the best players in the world if it only costs Brodie but I think getting Hoffman straight across for him would be a fair deal. Brodie isn't anywhere close to the same level as the guys I mentioned but I don't think he's any better than Hoffman, if anything I think Hoffman would have more value to this team.

Brodie and bennett are a combo for Stone not Hoffman. Brodie for Hoffman straight up is closer.

This is true but you realize that was 4 years after he was drafted right?
Remember Bennett missed nearly the entire season after he was drafted and was then rushed to the nhl. He was converted to Centre too soon and struggled there as well.
