All his major transactions have centered around defensemen and use used free agency on guys like Brouwer (miss) and Frolik (good signing) and bargain shopping on guys like Versteeg and Jagr. I realize Treliving really values having a deep defense group but he's built a team that is totally unbalanced.

Flames need to play like they are the better team against the "no goods". Stop playing soft, stop letting McDick cut wide in the D, stop avoiding physical play. The Flames are far and away the better team, start playing like it ffs. 7-1 drubbing by the Flames, the tide turns, and all hope is forever lost in Deadmonton. GFG.
Realistically I've been looking at the remaining games here as time to either fish or cut-bait.

The Oilers and their season are dead and buried while ours isnt, we need to get our foot on their throats and then stomp.

Nothing against Stajan, rather have some speed in the lineup. McDavid will get his chance to play against that 4th line and Im afraid he will pick them apart.

Fair enough and totally makes sense. But realistically McSavior can pick any line apart with his speed. Need more positional play against him more than anything.

Eating Tide Pods and the Oilers have something in common: they both make people ill.

With the lack of depth up front in Edmonton, why don't they just have a rover whenever McDavid is on the ice.

He comes over the boards and the F3 (high guy) just cycles back to the neutral zone.

Wait out his shift and go to work when he sits down.

Either way this is a mental game. The Flames are playing a fragile team looking to bounce back from an embarrassing loss. The key is to just play the game in front of them and don't make the mistakes that lead to chances and goals due to being too jacked up.

TBH, anything but a 5-0 win will be a disappointment.

And if we lose 2-1 in overtime I'm pretty sure my head will literally explode

GFG! Time for some sweet redemption against those pod eating, sweatpant wearing, jersey urinating fools! And their fans too!

I maybe wrong but Hamonic is supposed to be physical defensemen correct? I see he's on pace for 80 hits this season. He has hit 213 and 148 a few years back. Now is that him changing his style up or a team thing?

On the plus side, their current trend of giving up 5 goals at home is promising.

Make it happen Gully. Keep the pairing system together. I think Lazar has great speed that could help out on the shutdown second pairing and he's been playing good as of late. Get Mangi back together with Janko to try and spark some offence, have Lombo injected for some grit that has been lost the few weeks with Hath.

Johnny - Mony - Ferly
Chucky - Backs - Lazar
Benny - Janko - Mangi
Lombo - Staj - Brow

I have a bad feeling about this game. However as usual my instincts have proven wrong many times before.

i wouldn't get my hopes up. this coach loves Brouwer and he is firmly slotted in on that second line until Fro gets back. And the PK. And the PP. He is one of our most important and best players!

No, they are not. The Flames have the best run of ten games of every team with whom they are competing for playoff spots but for the lone exception of Colorado. Slumps happen to EVERY team. Hell, the Kings are in the throes of an ugly 3-7-0 string, and coming into last night had just dropped a 6-2 decision to one of the worst teams in the League.
