Hum drum effort once again from the forwards. D has been tight. Smith has been best player on the Flames for consecutive games.
PP is a complete joke.Coaches have been back to what they were not engaged not making adjustments just going through the doldrums. It's either the nothingness of the team is rubbing off on the coaches or nothingness of these coaches have rubbed off on the team.
Something is going to give way you can feel it.

Tkachuk is pretty good but after that yeah. 4th line hasn't produced all season and the 3rd line had a short stretch but are ice cold. It's amazing they are where they are given the lack of secondary scoring. Just goes to show how important Smith and Rittich (to a lesser extent) have been.

While we're all pretty frustrated it is probably better for you to bitch in your first post rather than set the tone for everyone else with a dumb title.

Same can be said for [GDT] and [GT] with anything but Flames @ Team or Team @ Flames with maybe a start time and network info. Some people do an amazing job while others just seem to want a few chuckles from a dumb title.
I don't see anything wrong with the title of this thread. Odd thing to get upset about.

We need another weapon up front before we'll compete. There's just no way around that. By that I mean someone who can snipe almost as consistently as Monahan but do it on another line. By far the biggest missing piece.

4th line is playing much better (Lazar & Stajan mostly). That's the good news. Bad news is that it still rarely even remotely ever looks like any threat to score and is still one of the worst 4th lines in the NHL this year.

What a shame.

This has been a frustrating year as a season ticket holder. So many losses and low scoring games. There have been a few gems but a lot of brutal hockey. Not getting out of there until 11 mid week and seeing a loss is a real piss off

People annoyed at the thread title. People annoyed about negative posters. People annoyed at positive posters. It appears losing makes fans testy. Who knew?

This is our second 3 game losing streak of the season and we got points in every game. Our previous one was December 2nd - 6th we went 0 - 2- 1. Have not lost 3 in a row in regulation all season. 39 days since losing two games in a row in regulation.

Points in 11 of our last 12 games.

21st consecutive games allowing fewer than 3 goals. Record in those games: 11 - 4 - 6. 28 of a possible 42 points for pptg .666.

.666 pace over a season is 109 points.

I dislike losing, but I'll accept a season like this one.

.850 win pct in last 10. Not bad for a 3 game winless streak

Adrenaline wore off for the recent call ups and they've come back to earth. Perfectly acceptable but alas we have to continue to lean on them because of the situation. Could sure use Frolik / Jagr / Versteeg back right now.

Dave Cameron has to be sent packing immediately. The power play is pathetic.

I wouldn’t be surprised if our lack of OT success lately has to do with the loss of Frolik. Guy is an absolute beaut in OT with his speed, forecheck and excellent defensive play. I think once we get him back we’ll be back on track 3 on 3 as Backlund will have his regular partner back.

Yeah either that or if they can't sign Backlund that could be another option. But i would rather see Brodie shipped out. Hoffman or Patches would really help.

Good question and Loubardias is asked ng the same thing.
You can tell it's coming though. These past oh, I wanna say five games he's been generating really good chances consistently.
I feel it's only a matter of time. I'm gonna say three games from now and he's gonna score ten by the time the season is out.

It's all about the confidence and I'm seeing it grow.

So disheartening, this 4th line.
I think you could live with that if the 2nd line was productive but outside of one player it's been closer to 3rd line production. After Monahan, Gaudreau, Ferland, and Tkachuk the goal scoring drops to single digits and this team needs to get more guys going to squeeze some more wins and get into the playoffs when anything can happen.

I agree with how Hrudey described the change in the game and how icing is now used frequently by teams while relying on their ability to win face offs. So, I don’t see icing as playing not to lose. It is a strategy within the game.
