it is what it is... every team is going to have to deal with it...
hopefully, on going out on a high note, they don't forget how exactly they got there: hard work and unselfish play, playing within the structure of the system.... Flames need to stay hungry over the break

Glad to see that the 4th line did something good not only on the ice but actually on the scoresheet too.
Hope they can somehow do more of that and maybe Lazar can hit the goal column sooner rather than later.

Concerned when Frolik gets back where they are going to put Brouwer because the 3rd and 4th lines don't have a Backlund to correct the errors.
4) I like Cassie Campbell. Really enjoy her commentary. Don't know where the hate comes from.
5) I think the break isn't a bad thing right now. Hopefully they use the rest appropriately

I am glad to see I am not the only person who enjoys Cassie's insight. I think she has a good eye for the game!

Peters on Giordano hit on Aho: "Obviously, there's some head contact. I don't know there was much intent, to be honest with you. I thought (Giordano's) arm was tucked in low. But it ended up catching him in the head, so unfortunate."

No. The earlier supposed issues with this team were badly exaggerated by a vocal number of posters on this board. There really hasn’t been a significant change in HOW the team has played for a long time now. Their shooting percentage has improved a lot, and they look much more relaxed and confident. Those are ingredients which breed success.

Haha. Kudos to you for never relenting on your hate for the Sharks, Jets and Oilers regardless. At least you're right about the Oilers sucking though!

The Carolina coach calling it unintentional probably helps Gio's case.

I agree. I think they get a well deserved break and can feel good knowing they put themselves in a poaition to make the post season. There is a chance that complacency sets in, but I think now that they've started winning they will want to keep it going. I mean, a 7 game winning streak should be good motivation when they get back.

Guy probably shouldn't be checking to see if his laces are tied as he cuts to the middle

Plus they play Winnipeg next, who are coming off a break as well.

Well I think you go 2 for 5 which is a fail
Brouwer has stepped up during froliks absence.
Cassie is woeful
And a break isn't the best thing for this team I'd prefer it if we kept rolling

She is garbage. Go listen to her pathetic commentary after the 2nd Hamilton goal. It sounded like she was watching the game from her basement couch.
Can't wait till Hrudey gets back. Enough of this Oiler level commentating.

Don't get me wrong they deserve the break, but they really are crappy to head into on a streak.
|
the difference this year though, is that half the league is taking a break at the same time, and they play another team coming off break as well (Jets) when they come back.
last year, with teams taking staggered breaks, it was a blood bath coming back. So they changed it up this year.

Ferland probably has some sneaky good secondary assists. Love watching him physically remove a player from the play, make a beauty pass like he didn't just lay a guy out, and pucks in the net. Such a beauty.
Also, how huge of a statement game will post-break be? GFG

No kidding. Gio was flat footed too. If you get hit that hard by a guy who isn't moving, you ####ed up.

As soon as Aho dangled the first guy then looked down I saw it coming.

I am right about all of them.
Seriously. Have you watched the Sharks this season? They are the most vanilla team in the entire league. It boggles the mind how they have clung to Division contention through half the season, and it is honestly bizarre that they are not slugging mud with the Oilers.
