Kruger, Teravainen, Van Riemsdyk, Darling, they sure love collecting reasons Chicago didn't win three cups in Carolina.

IMO, they are playing better hockey overall than they did last year during the 10 gamer.
Shame that they are hitting their break now, but hopefully they come back from it chomping at the bit.

Agree in general, but I think Teravainen's a pretty good player though.

yeah, with the way they are playing, you really feel that they could get to 10 wins in a row again.
hoping that the flames don't forget how they got into this position in the first place...

Have him on my fantasy team this year, he can look like a world beater for 5 games in a row and then look like a 4th liner for the next 5. Think the Hurricanes have a lot of players like that.

He's having a good game but temper those expectations. I would be thrilled if Lazar ever gets 20 goals as a flame

I'd love it, I really would. But 20 goals?
I'd be happy if he chipped in with 5-10 and a few assists

Love the optimism, but that might be a stretch. I'd be very happy with 6-8 goals and 10-12 assists.

Teravainen or Jankowski? Who would people rather have?

Given how Janko's 200 foot game has evolved and the PK minutes he plays, it's Janko in a heartbeat.

Teravainen is on pace for 65-70 points. I like Janko but that's a tough one.

Teravainen was a perimiter player in Chicago. I haven’t seen him play enough with the Canes to decide if he’s changed his ways. Jankowski is anything but a perimeter player.

Stick with him, show him patience, and we’re going to get a good bottom 6 forward. Add in the fact that he’s outwardly a good kid, and we have the makings of a guy who could be around for a long time.

I'm admittedly not sold on Lazar yet but I do think he's potentially well suited to a modern day 4th line role. He's a reasonably big body yet can still skate well. He also has a naturally heavy shot, just needs to work on accuracy a bit.
Excited to see him attempt to make a few plays today and hopefully a run of consecutive games gives him the confidence he's been lacking for so long.

Really huh? What about his play over the last calendar year leads you to believe this?
Lazar already has 210 NHL games under his belt and 43 points to show for it. I think he is who we think he is. A forth line forward that young (read cheap contract) and fast. I like the kid and enjoyed a very brief conversation with him in the summer, but I don't see him hitting those numbers you mentioned.

First line looks good
Fourth line looks good
Second line looks OK, as long as Brouwer doesn't stop skating at the blueline on a 2 on 1
Third line is absent. Janko needs more talent on his wings
