I just started listening to Rise Against recently too. At first I thought I didn't like them too much but they really grew on me. Someone at work told me that Rise Against and Anti-Flag are coming to Calgary in the January. Unfortunately they are opening for Billy Talent.

I'm going to that show for Rise Against. Don't mind Billy Talent. I had no idea Anti-Flag was playing.

Lets see... i'll throw together a metal playlist just for fun... this is the kind of stuff i like to listen to when I really need to focus...
1. Pantera - Suicide Note Pt. 1
2. Saturnus - Drown My Sorrow
3. Woods of Ypres - A Meeting Place and Time
4. Novembers Doom - Autumn Reflection
5. Swallow the Sun - The Morning Never Came
6. Strapping Young Lab - Love?
7. Children Of Bodom - Hatebreeder
8. Death - The Philosopher
9. Kreator - Murder Fantasies
10. Behemoth - Conquer All
11. Skinless - A Unilateral Disgust
12. Cannibal Corpse - Rancid Amputation

14. Operation Wintermist - Iron Coffin (finish the list with some good local boys)

Tried to get heavier as the playlist went - think its fairly solid. Tried to keep things not TOO obscure. Good pregame music

I'm a big Ministry fan. Thieves is a good song, but I'd put Stigmata on instead.

Off the cuff:

1)Poundcake - Van Halen
2)Clones - Alice Cooper
3)How Soon is Now - Smiths
4)Glide - Stone Temple Pilots
5)Everlong - Foo Fighters
5)Our House - Madness
6)More Human than the Human - White Zombie
7)If you Could Ream My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot
8)Low - REM
9)Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
10)If I Could Talk I'd Tell You - LemonHeads
11)Spirit of the Radio - Rush
12)Painted Moon - The Silencers
13)Synchronicity 2 - The Police
14)Dreaming - Blondie

I'm sure on another day I would switch 12 of these, but this would be a good list.

Tell Kipper to stop making amazing saves. I'm pretty much hooked on Rammstein/Du Hast and their library now, and I don't even speak German. But that song just pumps me up, especially at the dome.

Good choice on Links!

Bonus points for Ring of Fire.

I'm surprised that Okotoker has Bro Hymm on his list. I remember in the playoffs last year in Anaheim they would play the chorus from that song everytime the Ducks scored...it somehow made that song less enjoyable for me.

Who do you recommend? I'm always looking for new music.

I tend to lean towards more dance/electronica (Above & Beyond, Oakenfold, Van Buurien, Mylo, Röyksopp, Eric Prydz, Ferry Corsten, Groove Armada)

That Elliot Smith song is great. He has an amazing library.

Ference sure has made up for some weak showings of other Flames' "one song on your Ipod" question on the PPV.

Hopefully you DJ the Christmas party toker.
