Man, keep winning games! I don't care if they're ugly.
I can hardly wait to see a nice green goal differential next to the flames soon, when I check the standings.

By forcing the opponent to cover the point shot, close in chances will increase

The puck won't make it to the net to be a close in chance. They need to play down low on the PP, make some cross crease, slot or top circle passes and then flood the side that the shot comes from. That's how Babcock organizes his, and it works.

I hope we're over the "Connor-Mania" when we head up there this month...would love that game to be the "official" playoff elimination game...

Haha also laughing at that oilers 2-1 loss. Thinking they tied it only to have it called by for offside hahahaha. Vancouver lose their 5th in a row. Good night for us Flames fam!

Yes!!! Awesome! Smith was awesome tonight and they pulled through. We've got a team boys and girls. I'm not gonna harp on the fact it took the dummy coaches and management forever to make the moves they did. I'm just glad they did! it

Ferland's pass to Monahan was great, but I really loved his goal.
Playing in tight, kicking the puck up to his own stick, and then into the net.

Mike Smith was a star tonight, what a glove he has.

Johnny was not to be denied tonight.

That's what they are doing right now, with terrible results. A point shot just gives them another option.

I found it hilarious how far all the pundits dropped Johnny in player rankings going into the season. And putting Draisaitl ahead of him? Give me a break. Even McDoobie has his work cut out for him to outscore our little beast.

We all knew Gaudreau had plenty of room to grow yet and is a special kind of NHL talent despite last season.

Flames 3 Wild 2 OT

- Dougie Hamilton back to back game winners
- Mike Smith is a wall when wearing white
- Jankowski stands out for two way game
- Monahan with 20, only he and Nieuwendyk did that in each of first five seasons.

He should take up shooting pucks again or he's gonna get into Thornton territory.

They need to try it. Dismissing options for the powerplay isn't something the Flames should be doing. It's brutal. It likely works better for Babcock because he's able to find the working PP combos.

If we had won both game against the oilers, we’d be up 17 points on them. If we were 1-1 against Them, we’d be up 13 points on them.

It's absolutely not what they're doing now. They are making slow passes on the outside and then trying the occasional shot from the outside. The Jankowski one timer is an example of what everyone is asking for, but the puck got there so so late that Stalock was set for quite a while.

They also do way more point ####s that you all are suggesting. Gio shoots and Brodie does as well (usually at the worst times). And when Stone has been in he's done nothing but that, with terrible results.

I think they just aren't working hard enough for their second chances, not passing fast enough and not putting the puck on net enough. Way too much perimeter play.

Their good chances tonight both came from behind the net.
