If you don't know the answer, why reply with an assumption?
Also, why assume I'm ashamed of my body?

I think that comes more out of a natural impulse to protect ones genitals (a dangling dong is quite a vulnerable thing), even the most naked of cultures still wear a minimum of a thong, the entire 99% of the rest of the body does not hold such a universal impulse to clothe.

You're asking leading questions that you already have the answer to.

"We as a society are inundated with so much false ideals about body image that we can easily become lost in self criticism, judgment and insecurities," the group said online.
"This group is a place to break free from our societal constraints and tap into the liberation and freedom from embarrassment and shame and allow us to fully embrace and courageously love all of ourselves in the presence of others."

There you go, the groups answer.

When the nudist group itself uses sexualized images to promote events I take them lecturing the public about the differences with a grain of salt

Do you honestly believe there are kids walking around nude at beaches across Canada every day? I'm willing to bet if you spent a sunny July day at Wreck Beach, you would see not a single nude child between the age of 5 and 15.

Exactly,
This is why the pool thing isn't a big deal if you are concerned about pedophilia. Your effort should be put into teaching your kid how to question authority figures and understand what is appropriate behaviour for them.

This isnt true. Children pick up queues from their parents and those around them. Parents might not explicitly prompt their children but children pick up how their parents act and react about nudity and genetalia. I dont think theres even any debate on this in the realm of psychology and the develpoment of sexuality in children. As a parent its important to know how you act impacts your kids. You can Google this yourself and easily find academic research on the topic.

Probably not right now, it's a bit cold for the beach.
But there's family resorts opened in Canada that outright ban clothing and are opened to families...well aimed at such.
So yes, I would say at any time in Canada you could find at least one of these activities going on. Not arguing for or against it, but they certainly exist.

I suspect these places are open to anyone joining, and are either free, or in the case of some of the resorts, charge daily fees for a campsite or cabin/room.

That isn't the answer to my question. I know why adults to it. I've gone skinny dipping and it's fun.
But I was curios why naturists feel the need to be naked in front of their children and have their children naked around them. It's downright weird, and I argue it's wrong.

serious question...are kids allowed to be clothed? I know adult men are not
If not they are forcing children to be naked? because they believe in the lifestyle?

My guess is that this event will be cancelled due to all of this media attention.
Calgary is apparently not a friendly place for rocks in parking lots or to go naked on water slides....

honestly I don't think there would be much of an objection without the "family friendly" stuff

I don’t assume, but there is certainly an issue with equating a parent seeing a child nude or vice versa with an unimaginable “want,” instead of simply a natural and normal part of life. Maybe it’s shame that makes it seem unnatural. Maybe it’s fear.
I saw my parents naked. It wasn’t a big deal. I just can’t imagine living in a world where you’re afraid of your children seeing you naked or afraid of seeing them. The least sexual relationship possible, and yet, there are people genuinely... I don’t know, disgusted? Afraid? Ashamed? just by the idea.
It’s just a naked body.
