Dirty play of the Ducks starts and ends with Ryan Getzlaf he's their example. Great player but he's a stab you in the back kinda guy he'll chop you down and try to hurt you every chance he gets.

Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf wonders when calls will go his way

“The penalty calls and stuff in this league now, it’s hit or miss,” Getzlaf said. “I go into corners and take nine times the beating that some of these guys take and they don’t call penalties. It’s just a matter of what they want to see. And it’s not the referee’s fault.

“It’s just the way the league is going now. They want all this nickel and dime stuff called all the time. And it’s frustrating as players because we’re trying to produce, we’re trying to play and you end up getting three, four power plays in the last five minutes of the game. That’s not right.”

Asked about Getzlaf’s irritation with how games are being officiated, Ducks coach Randy Carlyle looked at his goalie, John Gibson, getting bumped around by the Oilers and sympathized with his center about perceived inconsistencies.

“Well, I get irritated too but it doesn’t do you any good,” Carlyle said. “Obviously, we felt that there were some liberties being taken towards our goaltender in those two situations where people are going to the net and pushing people in.

“To me, the situation could have been resolved much quicker with one warning to say that’s it and it would have been all over. I’m not saying there had to be a penalty there but just control the situation and it shouldn’t be allowed to continue, that’s all.”
