Good for GG, but this can't all come from the coaches. The fact that he's specifically ripping the vets shows that there are problems more deeply rooted than just the coach.
Who's our Jonathan Toews or our Sidney Crosby? I doubt it's Giordano that he's ripping here, and Gio is often praised for his leadership, but who is going to take a Brouwer or a Hamilton or a Stajan or a Brodie aside for a weak-ass effort or for lack of dedication to winning and scream at them?
It cannot be the coaches all the time. They get tuned out, then they get fired, and as others have said, the mindset gets entrenched that you don't have to listen to the coaches. This team has been through a crazy number of coaches since Darryl went upstairs. It would be interesting to see how that compares league-wide.
If this team doesn't rattle off a good long 0.750 stretch and look like they consistently give a f*** during it, I can see a much bigger move than a coach firing coming.
My money is on Treliving knowing all this and knowing that firing Gulutzan is exactly the wrong thing to do to combat this problem.

No big deal to me, really. I am kinda neutral on GG right now, but this could simply be a matter of not letting highs get to high, or lows getting to low.

Great to see. This team inconsistency BS stems from not taking each game, and practice it would seem seriously. Nice to see the head coach have some bark and trying to get the message that he's fed up with it.
Hopefully they respond in their next game with playing from puck drop and hungry for another win to continue the streak. Because they need it.

Depasquale really should have changed the grips on Gully's stick before practice.

A good place to start for culture change might be ripping that A right off of Brouwer's chest and putting it up for grabs to whoever wants it most.

This is clearly all his fault and we've been calling for the firing of the wrong guy this whole time.

Gulutzan loses cool at practice
Gulutzan needs to take some accountability as well, if he has identified that his veteran guys are playing poorly, don’t continue to put them out with 2 min left in the game or on the power play. #brouwer

Agreed. Talk is one thing. Benchings and healthy scratches are another, and from his rant, there's probably a few guys that deserve it

Or Backlund who’s certainly been a leader on the ice for the last couple years.

It's nice to see emotion, but this rant just cements what I'm seeing in GG as a coach. He doesn't command the respect of the players...he begs for it. The team needs a coach who'll throw the stick, then leave the ice and tell the team & assistant coaches to stay on the ice until they get it right.

Funny how people see that and fit it to whatever narrative they have for what they'd like to see happen to GG. I support keeping him and think that calling out vets as a part of an on ice tirade can be effective if it's rare, deserved, and well timed. If those 3 boxes are all being checked, then I don't think that it shows a coach who is fearful for his job. Instead, I see it is a confident move, and although counter-intuitive, one that shows poise.
If the presumption that Brouwer is the target is correct (most likely since he says captains, then self-corrects to veterans, then specifies one good game), then he is dressing-down a highly paid veteran for all to see, including the management team who paid him so. Seems like the move of a person who knows his job is safe but expectations are higher. No doubt that last part has been communicated.
Anyhow, I hope it works and don't mind seeing some emotion from him. It's happened before with positive results.

He is a UFA tho. Not that I'd be opposed to it, but could be a temporary thing.

So they just weren't ready to compete? (again)
I sense a pattern here.
