Meh.
I’d rather see this tourney played in Red Deer or Kelowna or Regina etc.
Even Victoria seems like a good choice. Hate it that Vancouver was attached to that bid.

Even Ferraro and Miller are talking about how the Canada goal song is garbage.
I know Ottawa plays it all the time. I think it's the Mexican resort go-to song for crappy crowd interaction.

So, that was a five way passing play. Good grief. If you're on the Swiss bench you have to be demoralized watching that.
Also, I think - no, I know that Jake Bean is my favourite player on this roster.

That interview with the Swiss coach is going to go down as one of my all time favorites. It's a beauty.

I wonder if ticket cost has anything to do with the attendance as well. When the WJC was here in Saskatoon 8(!) years ago the prices were outrageous and you had to buy the complete package to see Canada play. Sales were bad right from the start and and just before the tourney began they finally started selling individual game tickets. I can't imagine things are better in a bigger hockey market almost a decade later.
On topic - it looks like the Swiss coach wasn't employing psychology after all. He really did believe his team would get shelled.

I am dying laughing at that thing with Hart and the Swiss backup.

Not that attendance wasn't a problem previously, but it's also pretty miserable in Buffalo right now with blizzard conditions and the possibility of 3 inches of snow.

In a game like this they need to implement a handicap. Canada is at full-strength with 4 players while the Swiss get 5. Every Swiss powerplay is a 5-on-3 and every Canada powerplay is just 4-on-4.
"You are not very good...you may have an extra player."
They've had 2 shots on goal so far. Perhaps our goalie should only play with one pad? Or no catcher?

I love it that this guy on tsn is all butthurt at the game of chicken the Swiss backup is playing with Hart. I think it’s hilarious.

Honestly, I think it’s pretty stupid and immature of Hart.. The last few games of this tourney against Canada I’m telling my backup to stay out there the entire intermission. Simply put, it’s a distraction from the task at hand (winning the game) and not about being an individual and that, to me, is kinda what hart is doing, making it about him..
How is that gonna fly in the NHL? Just get off the ice kid.. if you wanna be the last off on your team, that’s cool. But when that buzzer goes, get off the ice, get out of your gear and relax and conserve energy.
I just think the whole thing is dumb...

Cale Makar just made a forty foot bank pass off the boards in from the point to the slot. Some of the stuff they pull off in this tourney is too much fun.

5-0 Canada for those who can't watch.
Midway through the second.

Is this Swiss team using GG’s system? They just seem so scattered.. they aren’t slow, they have skill, they’re a little undersized but they have zero system in their own end to get the puck out and transition..
After the whining from the coach publicly yesterday and now the lack of structure( which you you at least expect from the comments yesterday)..

Hart caught sleeping? It was a double tip to the top corner.

I wouldn't mind Canada not scoring anymore just so that I wouldn't have to listen to that horrible goal celebration song for the rest of the game.

I think the whole thing is funny, add some fun into the tournament. Immature? Hart is a teenage kid, immaturity comes with the territory. Unlike what Kadri did, now that's stupid.
How is that gonna fly in NHL? Well, when the time come that he makes it to NHL, he'll grow up.
