You do know that they won right???? Against a team that are also paid to win hockey games? ?? A team that has won some recent cups and has several elite players. Man this site has become a pathetic cesspool of depression.

Apparently Brodie/Hamonic are on the ice by themselves according to you.
The second goal off the face off where was the winger when Brodie moved the puck up the boards? Nowhere near where he was supposed to be but it’s easy to blame Brodie because Cassie said he gave it away.
It’s so easy to just blame these two. Hamonic just had bad luck on the last one and if you watch the replay Gio is on with Hamonic.
People get under my skin when they blame a player for something that he wasn’t even on the ice for.
You have minutes/hours to state your opinion and it’s wrong while a player has a split second. Need I say more?

I don't know where this game becomes unquestionably negative for a few here.
Was I pissed when Chicago got the loser point? Of course. Would a few avoided gaffs have avoided that? Sure.
But Chicago is Chicago. They had multiple great offensive threats and the Flames played well through the storms.
Between all 6D and Smith, they played very well against a good Chicago offence. Glass was also playing great. Positionally he was excellent, and he shut the door on a few great chances.
But most importantly we saw resilience. Chicago fights back from 3-0 and we held them off well. They managed to tie it, but it was more impressive on Chicago's part than embarassing on the Flames. Then in OT we saw them buckle up and get the W.
Chicago is a good team. This was a good game. Not everything can be a blowout. Sometimes leads are hard to hold against good teams - but they fought back each time and got the W.
This is something we should be happy about.

I think people aren't generally unhappy about the win itself, it's more the bigger picture and last night's win (nearly blew it) was lipstick on a pig. That's about as good as it gets and it's a matter of time before we lay an egg or fall flat. If posters don't like to read criticism (not directed at you) then probably best to stay away from the forums until there is a change or this team plays like they did last night and actuallyaccumulates some wins for an extended stretch.

Oh, I don't think this game pardons the December we just watched at all.
But I see this as a positive sign for 2018 more than anything. I'm also referencing a lot of posts in the Pre-PGTPGT. Chicago did make a comeback, but they're a good team.
I saw a hard-fought see-saw battle between good teams last night, and one that well win more often than not if we play like that.

Some of you would have preferred to lose 5-0 like the Oilers

Would have sought out one during the off season and not waste my draft picks on Hamonic for starters it is what it is but I feel the top line is not living up to it's full potential. Ferland is just way to inconsistent but I guess it could be worse. A few times last night he looked lost and not set for the pass. Like I said it was a great win but until they string together 7 or 8 in a row this teams going no where.

Member when PGT after a win were happy. I remember.
I watched it late after getting home and I thought it was a great game. Sure Chicago managed to get back in it, but 2 points are 2 points. I hope this gives them the confidence boost they need to get on a roll.

Was there and sure, like all, was disappointed about giving up a point to Chicago, but it was still a fun, entertaining game, in which we earned two points.
Rather than a blanket bitch, I was not pleased with, and don’t understand, putting the Stajan line out after a goal against. They were hemmed in, and it led to Chicago getting a bit of momentum, which led to their second goal. I believe Chicago’s 4th line was out as well after the goal, but to me that seems a great opportunity to put out Mony’s line to take momentum back.
Other than that, keep getting wins and let’s go on a streak to start 2018!

I'm happy that Gaudreau looked like he was feeling it again. This team's offense runs pretty much entirely through him and he is talented enough to occasionally win games all by himself as long as the rest of the team do their jobs.
He was making some real nice passes and overall was quite dangerous.

What an embarrassing PGT to read. The Flames won a hard fought game against a good team that they're directly competing with for a playoff game and some of you still choose to be negative about it? There's legitimate concerns for sure, but there's other threads for that. Let's be happy about the win in this thread.

|
I'm going to go against the grain here and say that it's actually Monahan at the moment who is making Ferland look bad in the offensive zone.
Last night, Monahan had 2 wide open nets to shoot at. Both times he makes a bad pass to Ferland who is not expecting it. Ferland misses both times, and now he looks ''bad''. Monahan could of had a hat trick last night. Instead he opted to pass into Ferland's skates and now Ferland is the goat for missing the net.
I've noticed (and the announcers too) that it's happened a bunch of times over the past couple games where Monahan tries a cross ice pass instead of shooting. Ferland (unfairly) isn't ready, it bounces off him and he ''misses''.
Monahan needs to shoot, shoot, shoot. Stop looking for Ferland. Shoot!!
