One of the defensmen need to go, the defense is not good enough to be this team strength and the offense has not been there from any of the Dmen on a consistent basis. The picks for Hamonic should've been used for offense but he does make Brodie or Hamilton expendable. Tough decisions ahead but one thing that's for sure is somethings gotta change asap if they are gonna make the playoffs.

Yeah I know...but hey, this team is no slouch either. I truly believe this team might not be number one in the league good, but should be top in Pacific. The personnel are there, just need the right coach.

Lots of people hoping for Sutter, and he would be an improvement no doubt, but I'm not sure if he is the answer. L.A. has been going stagnant for a couple of years, as soon as they moved on from Sutter they became contenders again immediately with very little roster change. Did Sutter lose the room or has the game passed him by? I don't know but it would surely be a 3yr commitment to find out. I wish we had hung on with Hartley a little longer until Gallant became available.

I hope that it is something like Brodie & Lazar out for a right winger, Mangiapane and Andersson up, Stajan & Brouwer on waivers.

Not much of a change from the current struggling mediocre team.

You missed the part where the coaching staff changes.

I don't think the game has passed Sutter by, I mean his 2 cups were still pretty fresh. Most likely the players got sick being yell at and those players had won 2 cups already.

Sutter’s message may have become stagnant in LA...but it was after winning 2 Stanley Cups. I’d love to see him here.

Trading Brodie would be a huge mistake. He's in the same boat Bennett was, playing the wrong position. Let him play on the right side before trading him. When he's on, he can be the team's best player.

Definitely agree that Flames should try to trade a Dman. Mostly because I have a hardon for Michael Stone. He is good enough to take on a bigger role and play more minutes. Makes no sense to have him as our #5 while the offense struggles.

My guess is that GG gets fired and use Huska as interim head coach until next year.

It’s a public forum deal with it. If you start to let all negative comments being shared across all forums & social media platforms bug you then you may as well quit your day job.

I can't believe how cranky some here are getting. Then again maybe cabin fever is setting in from all this extreme cold.
I took it as sarcasm from a frustrated fan and nothing to get offened by.

With the flyers being crappy, Wayne Simmonds will almost certainly be available and is an upgrade over Kane.

I think there is merit to trading Hamilton and reuniting Brodie with Giordano. That was a dominant pairing.
Hamilton would also fetch more than Brodie.
Gio-Brodie
Stone-Hamonic
Kulak-Andersson
Next year, potentially Fox and/or Valimaki might be ready too.

Defensively they've looked much better, but offence from the defence has not looked good. This team at one time was amongst the top teams in points from the defence, now they're amongst the bottom third of the league.
However, like the rest of the team, I don't think the biggest issue is the players, but rather how they're being instructed and used.

Some RW ideas:
D. Hamilton for Mark Stone?
Ferland/Frolik + Hamonic for Oshie?
Brouwer ++ for Okposo(one ugly contract)?
Would be sweet if we could get either Wheeler out of WPG but I doubt they do it for anything less than Bennett ++

But then we have two RH defencemen on the 2nd pair which seems crazy. Top 4 RH defencemen are a huge commodity in the NHL and to play two of them on the same line seems like a waste of assets.
When we traded for Hamonic I was okay with it, even though the cost was really high, I assumed that Stone was going to be too expensive. Then when we signed Stone to a reasonable contract I was stunned, why the hell would we make that trade when Stone would seem to have been a slight downgrade but he was a free acquisition? That was the biggest mistake Treliving has made IMO, huge mistake. Brouwer is a close 2nd but he didn't cost anything but unused cap space and a roster spot so far.
We should cut our losses with Hamonic, Brodie-Stone has proven to be a good pairing from what I've seen, Anderson can easily be our 3rd pairing RD D-man. Just a huge blunder and waste of assets IMO. Trading Hamilton or Brodie would be a terrible move.

Mark Stone would be an amazing fit and his brother is on the team, don't want to lose Hamilton but if he gets Stone I wouldn't mind.
