I said I personally would trade him in a heartbeat for Marner or Nylander if either were available like they were earlier in the year
.
You didn't say "I personally".

You have no tried to back out of that by providing tweets where there was speculation Marner would be moved for a Dman. No one questioned that though. People are questioning the Marner/Nylander offers that you claim were on the table for Brodie.
It is pretty clear that there has never been a legit rumor linking Marner/Nylander to the Flames with Brodie as the piece going the other way. For some reason you mention that in a drive by ripping Brodie for some odd reason
again. i never said any of this and hopefully by reading above that could be clarified for you. 😇

insinuate would mean it’s up for interpretation. anyways, i may not have explicitly worded my post exactly the way i meant to (apologies if so) but the gist of it shouldn’t have been difficult to comprehend but instead the conversation took a rather pedantic turn

Re Marner for Brodie - this came from an unsubstantiated opinion from Kypreos in early November when Marner was struggling. He suggests that a deal will be inevitable and that a player like Darrnel Nurse would get it done which is where this whole Brodie for Marner notion came from. So while not these tweets some were demanding this did come from a guy who is somewhat plugged in though that is debatable.

I wouldn't want to trade Brodie for Marner. Not because Marner is not a good player, it's because the Flames need to bring in more guys that are tough to play against and hate to lose. I feel like that's what is missing on the Flames.
Says the guy who would trade Brodie for a mid 1st round pick.
at the low end for sure. obviously i would love to get a marner/nylander/stone for him but if it was the TDL and he still looked like hot garbage the flames were still spinning their wheels, I’d be ok with a mid to high first for him. Something like the derek stepan trade. i’ve just never really liked TJ as a player. he’s scary in his own zone / soft and it leads to a lot of turnovers. and offensively he isn’t talented enough to mitigate it. he’s horrible on the powerplay, has a joke for a shot and isn’t all that great of a puck mover. He is a tremendous skater, but yet is always getting beat on the rush, it’s puzzling. I think between Kulak/Valimaki & Kylington, we’ll be fine with a TJ Brodie trade, and his value may never be higher.
Brodie is greatly overrated by flames fans. He was good that one or so seasons when he was paired with Giordano during the Hartley years. He's been pretty average since then.
He's not very good offensively as he is literally scared to even think about shooting the puck. He's weak defensively. Outside of being a good skater when he wants to, there's not a strong quality you can bank on getting out of him on a night in and night out basis.
I don't expect him to be traded this deadline, but would be shocked if he isn't this offseason. I also think, many here will be disappointed with the return.
