If you bought $1000 of bitcoin this morning, you could have sold it for $1380 by the end of the day. Crazy volatility.

A well-written contrarian position on the societal adoption of blockchain technology.

Planned to buy myself 100xRipple and 500xStellar for Christmas (I am gambling here, not investing), but it is damn painful.

Kraken is a $2000 USD minimum deposit.
GateHub won't text out my cellphone PIN authorization.
BitStamp taking forever to verify me.

Haven't started a wallet yet. Anyone in here that owns either/both of Ripple/Stellar have any recommendations?

Christ almighty, I'm almost ready to throw in the towel.

I use QuadrigaCX for all my withdrawals, they have deposit capabilities as well. You can buy eth from them, then move to another exchange for purchasing other currencies.

You could open an account through Coinsquare (Canadian Exchange). Easy to get verified and deposit money into the account if you are in Canada. Then buy bitcoin through there. Then open an account on Binance. You don't need to be verified for a basic account. Transfer bitcoins from your wallet on coinsquare to your bitcoin wallet on Binance. Buy XLM and XRP on Binance. If you want to cash out then sell back for Bitcoin and transfer back to Coinsquare and sell back for $$$. Its a bit convoluted and there are a few extra fees for the transfers but its the easiest way I found to do it. Best of luck

I've been buying on nTrust for no fees, but I've noticed that their posted rates don't match the market... it's always something.

Quadriga and Coinsquare are pretty discouraging, as the verification process has been taking forever.

The Equifax portion was quick, however it only opens up very limited funding options. I still cannot add money to my account through it.

Odd, they unlock withdrawals with it. Figured withdrawals would be more locked down than deposits.

The "voucher" funding method is available with Equifax. The full verification (photos of your passport, you, etc.), that takes weeks, opens up bank wire, interact, etc. (basically every single method of funding an account to purchase cryptocurrency).

I log on every day and read "in progress" and cannot use Coinsquare or Quadriga. They must be so backed up with new accounts. So I've been buying Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash through nTrust (instantly approved).

Weird, when I did it, it took about 2 days to get fully verified on quadriga.

I agree, they are probably swamped now.

Quadriga is supposed to be a relatively easy place to cash out C$; you don't need to verify your identity. You just need a valid bank account.

I convert it to eth, sell the eth on Quadriga, then send it to my bank account which takes 2-3 days. TenX will also be releasing their prepaid mastercards beyond Europe in Q1 which will let you pay for anywhere they accept mastercard with cryptocurrency

When the ordinary person hears about a stock or the like it means the bubble is in full swing and about to burst.
Bitcoin is at that point, no different from the dot com bubble a decade and a half ago, definatly not the time to buy into a market unless you are looking at day trading the price fluctuations, great short opportunity though, assuming someones offering that

Can't get verified anywhere. Was even willing to pay an inflated Ripple price over Changelly ($1.78USD/1XRP when market is $1.11USD/1XRP) just to get a foot in the door, and it's telling me that the server is down.

Tried to buy BTC over Changelly, so that I could convert it to XRP, and now Changelly is saying "payment denied due to policy requirements".

Went to signup on nTrust.... says page doesn't exist anymore.
This is brutal.

You could find someone to buy their coins off of without going to an exchange.

I don't think the bubble is about to burst. I think the bitcoin price will fluctuate throughout 2018 though. Almost impossible that we would see the same gains in Bitcoin as 2017. I think a lot of the alt coins should have some decent gains though. Just be careful investing and do your own research into the coin. There are tons of pump and dumps and market manipulations going on. I have seen it and experienced it firsthand. Its all a learning experience though. Also, never invest more than you are prepared to lose. All Cryptocurrency is highly speculative.

I've been using nTrust to purchase BTC, now I can't transfer them to my Quadriga account to purchase other coins until I'm verified... (can't add $ to Quadriga until verification is complete too). All this verification business is very handcuffing. Definitely going to be difficult to pull my money out when the time comes.

Why? There isn't any further verification for withdrawals.
