Default C-Train Disruption Nov 22

Just an FYI- I was walkin across 7th ave near 7th street when I noticed an unnatural number of buses on 7th ave. Looks like all of them were packed, and were route 552- C-Train Disruption Service.

Saw an Ambulance at the 7th street westbound station. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

So, if you are taking the train, be prepared for a delay.

Wouldnt be a bad idea to call 311 an hour before you usually would leave - just in case.

The tracks downtown were all shut down. Trains went back and forth between Dalhousie and 8th street, going no further.

On the other side, it was Olympic Plaza to Somerset.

You had to walk the rest of the way if you were going anywhere in between. Shuttle buses only took people from the extreme stations to each other.

Rumor was that there was a bomb threat?

This is on the CT main page:

CTrains on 7th Avenue are currently disrupted, due to a track malfunction.

Whitehorn trains are operating out of Olympic Plaza Station.

Somerset/Bridlewood trains are running south from City Hall Station.

Dalhousie bound trains are available at the 8 Street Station

Shuttle Buses between City Hall Station and 8th Street Station are running every 5 minutes.

Service will be reinstated as soon as possible.

Thank you for your patience.

A portion of track on 7th Avenue near 2nd Street SW has been
damaged forcing the closure of the CTrain service on 7th
Avenue at 9:15 am. Temporary repairs expect to be completed
in approx. 4 hours.

Calgary Transit has shuttle buses operating on 7th Avenue
between Macleod Trail and 8th Street SW.

Regular CTrain service is in effect outside of the downtown
core.

I wonder what happened to damage the track? The weather change?
