Nah play Rittich vs Habs...I'm going to that game and wouldn't mind seeing Rittich live and have him go 2-0 vs Canadiens

Explains why Jagr wasn't given a look on the new PP lines

#Flames Head Coach Glen Gulutzan just told us that Jaromir Jagr is out vs. #Blues, still dealing with a nagging lower-body injury. #STLvsCGY

It would appear that when all is said and done Jagr's biggest contribution to the 2017-2018 Flames will end up being the knowledge he was able to share with some of of younger players.

It's very unfortunate that the whole Jagr situation just hasn't really played out well of us on the ice.

#Flames C Mark Jankowski received the news every call-up hopes for earlier this week — check out of the hotel, find a place. Has moved in with D Brett Kulak.

Its too bad because the last few years has not shown that he has had injury issues or anything. Maybe if they would have signed him earlier, he would have had more time to ease into the conditioning

Pretty obvious decision to make. Not a chance he was ever going down.

I think he deserves another start before the holiday break, on home ice. Providing Smith a much lighter load going into the new year should pay dividends.

It is also CBA mandated. After 56 days being called up any player has the right to find a permanent residence.

He was called up 58 days ago.

Rittich can find a place in 30 more days.

Hathaway can find a place in 35 more days.

If the flames keep near that shot average again tonight and Smith has the worse save % of the two goalies then yeah I'd look at trying rittich in some home starts. Well need some sort of boost to help start stringing together some Ws at home even if Smith has been fine. Need to compensate for our awful lack of finishing ability at the dome. I'm growing afraid of these games and that shouldn't be the case with this team.

Sorting out the power play should resolve most of what ails the Flames on Saddledome ice.

what does that even mean that they "have the right"? can the teams force the players to stay in a hotel rather than buy/rent something?

It means that after a player finds a permanent residence to move their belonging and family to that if he gets sent down the NHL team has to give them a per diem to offset the costs of said residence.

If a player decides to buy a house or sign a lease agreement before the team or CBA lets them, they are on the hook for all their payments if they get sent down. Which is why most players stay in the team provided hotel room until they are told they can get a place.

For Hutton it is. I don't know why, Calgary seems to struggle against the backups.
The good news, Calgary might be riding a high after Vancouver and the Blues are in a bit of a slump.
