New Fridge Help
We found all of our items in the freezer had thawed out last week. A few days later, the fridge went as well...one day before the replacement was due for delivery.
So, we have the new one set up yesterday. It's as basic of a Frigidaire as you can get (no ice maker or any bells and whistles)
But it's still not cold. It's beyond the 24 hours that the interweb tells me we have to wait. I went out and bought 4 bags of ice today in hopes it would help speed up the process. The water in the freezer still hasn't froze and the fridge isn't yet cold.
All thermostats as turned to where they should be. Is there anything I'm missing?

Can you here it working at all? The compressor should make noise. If it still isnt cold after 24 hours its broken.
And...uh...its plugged in, right?

Did you let the fridge sit for a few hours before plugging it in. If you plug it in right away you can risk seizing the compressor.

There is nothing tricky about setting up a fridge. They say you shouldn't plug it in for 24 hours after moving it, so the Freon can settle before doing it's thing. If you waited the 24 hours before plugging it in, that's pretty much it. You plug it in, set it's coldness, and then crack a beer. Sounds like you should be calling the place you bought it from and asking for a replacement ASAP.
Truth be told, I've moved fridges around plenty of times, and completely disregarded the wait time, and have not had a problem.

It is generally only an issue it the fridge was laid on its side at some point during transportation. The compressor oil makes it's way into the cooling tubes and can take a while to drain back into the compressor.
Supper picky, but modern fridges don't have freon anymore, they use R134a but sane difference.

The delivery guys that Home Depot used plugged it in when they delivered it. There's a noticable cool air coming in, but it's just not cold enough to have frozen the ice tray and I'm not sure if the fridge is semi cold because it's working or because there's 4 bags of ice melting in there.

That doesn't sound right, I would be calling home Depot. Sound like you got a faulty unit

Though it's possible, the odds of two fridges failing (one of which was brand new) seems low. It's possible though.
Pro-actively, I'd personally check to make sure there is nothing wrong with the outlet.

I would call Home Depot right away. IIRC you have a certain amount of time to contact them after delivery to report a problem or you then have to deal directly with the manufacturer for a warranty claim.
