The big mistake seems to be holding on to the same guys for way too long also. It becomes stagnant. Long extension to Giordano, Stajan, and next will probably be Backlund. I'm sure they're great guys but they will not lead this team to any kind of sustained winning.

You realize if we win 4 or 5 in a row, all is well again. But honestly, I’ve lost all faith in this organization since the posturing by the owners and subtle threats of moving. Show me how good your team has performed on the ice over the last 2 decades Mr. Edwards. I would love it if they sold it to a new owner or owners and go from there. I can’t put this on Treliving. Everyone thought he was doing a great job in the summer when you looked at this Team on paper. Lots thought this defence was a powerhouse.

unless GG loses 10 in a row i don't see them firing him mid season. At most a minor trade happens first.

A trade any trade will not work. If Brad could have done this he would have done it already.

I don't get the amount of patience Gulutzan gets. He's just not getting it done.....Dave Cameron isn't helping and I don't think anyone else is either.

Let's get a coach back in here that isn't afraid to make these players accountable or sit. There's no fear.

I liked Hartley and his "meritocracy" and these guys seemed to player better.

Not suggesting bringing Bob back but something needs to happen .....hell even getting D Sutter back to shake it up would be better than repeating the same losing preparation, excuses etc.

I hope they don't wait until after Christmas. Do something .

Flames really need to make a trade to acquire an offensive forward...

There is simply not enough offensive talent on this team

Not sure, the GM is going to do anything.....

I expect continued patience, with maybe a little cage-rattling thrown in for effect.

Patience is the modus operandi of this management team and there is no way they are going to panic at this point.

Seems apparent that GG is here for the season. If the Flames miss the playoffs it should cost the entire management group to lose their jobs. You can't gear up to win, mortgage your future and miss the playoffs.

At this point I blame Trelieving for refusing to admit his mistake with GG.

How many years of just sticking with it until the players learn this fantastic system that will bring them championships?

This coaching staff had my attention last spring for a few weeks, but this season I've just tuned out. Seems like they've run out if ideas to extract the full potential of this roster and are resorting to bag skates, blaming and insanity.

They win 4 out of 5, and they are still out of a playoff spot.

And what happens if they follow that good streak with a bad steak?

Any team can win 4 out of 5, they need some sustained success of winning 14 out of 20. That will get them solidly back into a playoff spot.

Flames will acquire Kane, most fans will be pessimistic on the move, Kane will tear things up and click with Johnny, Kane becomes key part of core moving forward.

To all those saying the team will wait patiently, can Treliving afford that ? If he does nothing and we miss the playoffs in a year he traded our first round pick... that sounds like a automatic firing to me. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong but I think he almost has to do something to save face.

The correct answer here is nothing. Nothing will happen.

GG will be fired in the offseason and we're going to have to watch the Islanders walk out of the draft with some pretty good picks. That's what we can expect.

Not sure what will be first but Burke left after the 2nd period.
