Funny thing about Brouwer on the PP is I don't think he's the issue at all. Our last PPG in Toronto was all him really. Obviously he's not the ideal choice, but he's actually great and screening the goalie, which is his job.
The PP fails because we almost never get set up if we don't win the faceoff. Gaining the zone with possession is 100% built around Gaudreau. Then when we do get set up we don't put the puck to players in dangerous positions, but instead we opt to shoot through the crease for a tip, rebound, or whatever.
Gotta makes some big changes to the personnel and strategy as neither are working.

Hey thats a great idea. If we are lucky Cameron could even get stuck in the elevator and not be able to participate in the game at all.

As I said in the GT, when a team spends a significant portion of their cap on what is supposedly a top D, and that D sucks in their own end and can’t QB the offence, I’m not sure how people can suggest that Treliving is doing a good job. I’m almost ready to show him the door before Gulutzan.

Without Smith and Johnny we'd be in the basement. Meaning we need to be able to win games where out best players make mistakes.

The troubling thing to me is (if in fact true) I read on here that Gulutzan didn't think point shots or one timers work in NHL PPs. It's an ideological belief to stick with the current pathetically bad set up.
Only 3 guys touch the puck. Opponents know what CGY is trying to accomplish. Not only does it kill any momentum but it enrages me to watch. I want to break stuff.
I want the media to ask why they keep running out the same stale ####. When the regular lines aren't going good they change it up so why stick with this crap PP????

He's good at screening the goalie once in a blue moon. He usually is a liability on the PP or the Brouwerplay.

Given that our current pace has us outside the playoffs, I’d say that is an astute observation.

Why is he there to screen when GG said that he doesn't want point shots?

Gulutzen showed emotion behind the bench, mixed lines up and finally called a time out. I Dang near fell over

The D has not been the issue for the past half dozen games or so. They’re actually playing fairly well. Two goals against tonight were a direct result of brutal turnovers by forwards.

Posts like this are not needed on this forum. Stick to talking about the game as opposed to attacking members with petty insults.

He has been fired up (well for him) the past few games. I think he senses his time is running out.

He didn't say that. He said one timer's from the point are not the be all end all.

Their record in the past dozen games would suggest they are mediocre.

Ferland was awful
Smith was awful
Backlund was awful
Hathaway on any line and he gets the other guys going. Solid player.
Gaudreau needs to stay up or get the puck deep on the winning goal for SJ. Was not a penalty.
Our PP for the whole season has been garbage, yet they keep trying the same thing over and over and over and over again. Maddening.
Tkachuk needs to play on an offensive line. He can be so much more productive.
4 line got praise from the radio and tv guys, not sure what they're watching,
Bennett / Janko were solid as well.
Rittich in next game. Scratch Ferland. 4th line is a lost cause, no point trying to change them.

The team has been mediocre but I’m not pinning the losses on their D core as of late which is what you were implying earlier.
