I doubt we make the playoffs at this rate.

Wouldn’t that one be a fun one to sit thru at the dome and then drag yourself into work the next day.

I would think so to but it would be extremely tough for a coach to come in and reteach a totally different system and have success imo.

It's not the same team, I agree. I would agree the number of defensive breakdowns is much lower. Similarly, I don't get the same sense of overwhelming dread when the Flames are down a goal. They at least feel capable of making up deficits (contrast the Oilers and Flyers games where you could pretty much shut it off when they fell behind).

That said, I think team needs to keep moving. The leak threatening to sink the ship is now under control. It's time to turn to smaller matters. The powerplay is anemic and I would welcome the option to decline and run the clock down 2 minutes. There's also something vastly different between the home Flames and the road Flames. One is capable of playing much better than the other and there needs to be a reason why.

Certainly the team is better. A bunch of warts from that garbage fire of a team still persist though.

yeah...... fairly obvious actually what needs to change on the powerplay.

You know sometimes in life things that we think are obvious decisions are obvious because they're obvious. And should be made.

How many more wins would this team have if management wasn't so ridiculous NHL old school in it's aversion to giving young players a spot by playing Hathaway and Kulak instead of Glass, Hamilton, Bartkowski for the first 15 games?

1 pp goal in their last 6 games (in Toronto)
2 in their last 9 (Edmonton game)
3 in their last 10 (Colorado, first game without Versteeg)

Who knew Versteeg was so important to an already terrible PP?

Sharks looked like the much better team in terms of controlling play and zone time. They also won the special teams battle so really no surprise they win tonight. Need a bounce back on Saturday against a good Nashville team.
I wasn't a fan when he was brought in. Also same with Hamonic with the price we paid.

Ducks now have the same amount of points despite being decimated by injuries.

We'd be exactly in the same boat IMO.

The coaching staff is holding this team back from performing.

Nashville will be a tough game, makes not getting at least a point in this one even worse. They have looked good

Was listening on the radio, did the refs miss a call there right before the sharks scored?

The PP fix will likely be the addition of Jagr. Hope it works.

Nashville is a guaranteed Flames win. Preds can't possibly have any goals left after the past 2 games.

All they need to do is fix the PP.

Sharks are good, and Flames didn't capitalize.

But I know any type of positivity or non panic button pushing posts aren't allowed here after a loss so I won't bother writing anything else beyond that.
I could be wrong, but it seems like you only show up with your sunny positive thoughts posts when the Flames lose.

Mangiapane and Hrvik need to be inserted into the line up. If Hathaway and Jankowski and Kulak can perform like they have so far, who’s to say that these guys can’t do the same? What do we have to lose? I bet they’ll be upgrades.

Sorry I just can't get over this. Like how are we in December and still using Brouwer on the powerplay?! It's just infuriating. It's just unfathomably stupid. WTF? I guess we just waste a season because of this stupidity?? Special teams has become SO critical in today's NHL.

Okay I'm done. Sorry.
