Taking a while to get to 5000
|
1) Flames win this one 3-2
2) Why did Tim Hortons leave in the first place?

Statement game tonight.
Can't fall back to mediocre, inconsistent hockey.
I expect a big game from the leaders on the team - Monahan, Ferland, Gaudreau, Backlund, Tkachuk, Giordano, Hamonic

I have been looking forward to this one for a long time. The Flames more often than not play well against the Sharks. 9-5-1 in their past 15 meetings.

No such thing as a true must win game this time of year but these divisional games are of high importance as if the Flames truly have aspirations of challenging for a Stanley Cup they have to put teams like the Sharks in their rear view mirror.

The good news is that in the early going, and despite the Flames' weird mental block with the Oilers they have a 5-3-0 record in the Division thus far. Two of those losses were the debacles against Edmonton.

Thats a good thing, washrooms lineups should be smaller as Timmy's lineups will be massive, especially with free drinks tonight.

Yeah, and the one other was the game versus Vancouver here where IMO they were clearly the better team. The wins against LA, Anaheim, Canucks (2) and the Yotes were all pretty solid (the shots for and against were pretty bad versus Anaheim I guess).

it's not just free Timmies tonight at the 'Dome - Our Hero and his pyromaniac sidekick plan to serve up some well-done portions of grilled shark. Don't forget to kiss the cook:
Go Flames

Not really. Both teams were pretty even up until midway through the 3rd period when score effects took over and Anaheim ran up the shot-clock 14–2. Up until that point the Flames had a 2-0 lead, and the shots were 29–27 for the Ducks.

Truly a measuring stick game. If they cannot get up for this one and come out flat my faith for this year will unfortunately be shaken. It is getting into the dog days of winter and we need to assert our position as a force in the league. GO FLAMES GO!

Its odd, i was looking at the Shaw PVR guide this morning and they have the Vegas game on the channels that normally carry the Flames game when the Oilers play.

Perhaps the latter will cause a greater demand for the former

If by some miracle we can score more than 2 goals tonight, I think we'll win.

They allowed EDM to come in and score a touchdown in their own rink and were horse#### from start to finish. They had an immediate chance to redeem themselves against the Flyers and came out just as sleepy.
This team has no fight. They are going through the motions of an 82 game season. This isn't an office where you just hand out assignments and deadlines and expect the tasks to be completed. A coach needs to lead and inspire a group, along with the Captain. That's sports. And that's whats missing from this club. Emotion.
I wish to God they'd bring in a veteran coach like Darryl to take this group of talented players, turn them into a team, and take them to the promised land.
