Really relieved we got the win. But seriously our special teams need an overhaul. The PP was awful. Down 2-1 with a full PP to start the third, in desperate need of a goal and we looked terrible. No zone time no shots. While GG may be off the hot seat for now we still urgently need an upgrade on Cameron.
After the Canucks were up 2-1, it was obvious that their game plan for the third period was to flip the puck into our end, not hard enough to get an icing call and clog up the neutral zone. They were doing a fairly good job of it too. But they certainly didn't dictate the play or dominate us for any stretch. It was frustrating to watch.
The Flames didn't play as solid tonight as the last couple, but as others stated, it was 3 games in 4 nights and it was their first game back after a road trip and they got 5 of a possible 6 points. Good teams find ways to get points even when they're having off nights. I'm just happy that they're doing that right now.

Thank you for posting that. I watched it the other day and had tears in my eyes. My respect for Hamonic went way up after watching that video. Glad we have a player of his character on our team.

Sure - happy for the win; the right team came out ahead - barely. Just don't agree that it was a good game on the Flames' part and they were "full value" for it.
Not exactly what I saw. Yes, the Flames were sloppy, but if not for all the fumbled pucks and miscues this would have been a laugher. They did not just “barely” win. They looked a little flat in the first five mins, and then again in the first ten of the third period, but otherwise the Flames owned the puck.
So, they lacked execution, were bad on the pp and were stifled in spurts by a very good defensive effort on the part of the Canucks. But in spite of these shortcomings looked great at everything else. The Flames were easily the best team on the ice.

Gif request time! Bennett and Janko had an almost exact similar exchange here after the goal except with a wink too, we absolutely must get that as well

The Flames just had what was probably the hardest 3 game stretch in the NHL this season for any team considering the travel and came out with 5 of 6 points.
Not a perfect game but there is certainly nothing to complain about.

I'll rip the actual goal once my download of the (hopefully) better quality game finishes.
The ones on GameCentre or whatever it's called now frequently have skipping issues this season. The sound skips and there are some dropped frames, so they are like 58 fps instead of the 60 fps I'm used to.
A pain in the ass because it's noticeable especially with the audio skips.

I thought the Flames were fairly dominant tonight. Gaudreau had too many turnovers - that first line was just not going tonight, though it wasn't for a lack of effort. Canucks just played that line really tight.
They had no answer for the next 3 lines, however. As impressive of a game that Tkachuk had, as well as the entire 3rd line, I thought the 4th line deserves a shout-out. They were all playing well, and gave the Canucks some fits tonight by hemming them in their zone. They actually allowed the Flames to get a breather and provided energy and depth scoring - Brouwer's best game in a while I thought. Hopefully that line just continues providing that kind of play.
The Jankowski line was, again, incredibly dominant it seemed. They are starting to be the most consistent line out there, and that is really scary for other teams, as the first two lines always play well this season.
I did think that Vancouver sucked the life out of the Flames in this one, but it was Tkachuk that breathed life back into them. He was just 'on' tonight, and I think if he wasn't suspended, the refs would have called a couple of penalties on the Canucks as I thought Tkachuk did a good job of drawing a few. Maybe they didn't see it... hopefully it wasn't the start of 'reputation calls' against him. At any rate, he provided the Flames with energy, and when the sails were sagging a bit, he just took matters into his own hands and scored. Twice.
Anyone thinking Bennett is a bust now? I think he is quickly shutting up the critics who seemed so eager to spout-off about how terrible he was, how he was a bust, and even said he has no hockey IQ. Laughable. What people don't realize is when you lose confidence, you start second-guessing yourself too much, you start taking an extra second or two because of it, and you end up making poor choices. Now that Bennett is rolling, anyone think his IQ is questionable? If so, just don't admit it because you are simply wrong.

You're my hero. Now we have to clip it to the part where Bennett turns his head and we're golden
