Johnny needs to figure out a different way to carry possession into the zone, because every team is applying back pressure when he's coming into the zone, and they grab that drop/back pass at least half the time.

You're right, they didn't abandon the system. They scored on a low percentage play that went right through the goalie.

GG's system is two men in deep, D stays conservative and hangs back. Players rarely take a chance. Works when you have the lead, not so much when you need a goal or 3.
