At home against a big divisional rival? Yikes, this could end badly. Prove me wrong, Flames.

The PP usage I can't defend.

Yeah, sure, fine, but I still think he's the best 4RW option this team has.

I'm starting doubt Jagr is going to break the GP record this year.

Brouwer is a big body right shot who stands in front of the net. If they're looking for a guy to play that role, he is best suited. If he is the one carrying the puck into the zone, then someone else has made a mistake. None of this seems that complicated to me.

It's infuriating that they don't use Stone on the PP. Drives me nuts.

This is the kind of thing that frustrates me so much about this coaching staff. It is so obvious that Stone makes sense on the power play but the guys paid to recognize this don't see it.
Every team is looking for that big shot from the point (particularly a right handed shot) and we have one but don't utilize it.

I was already dead drunk after the 2nd period with the Coilers in town last Saturday. Please just win, I need to be sober at least once in a while when I go to church on Sunday morning. GFG !!

That's actually a very good question.
I suppose I don't really consider them a rival at all, although the potential to get a deep rivalry going considering our potential battle with them in the standings certainly makes things interesting.
Central Canadian rival??

The only thing that I can logically think of that would be the reason Stone isn't on the PP is that maybe they tried him there in practice and it wasn't successful. Maybe he can't walk the line and he isn't as capable of "quarterbacking" a PP like some other options..???
If that's not the case then I am baffled as well
Does anyone know if he was on the PP in Arizona?

Maybe, although I don't see how replacing Brouwer with Stone and having Brodie "walk the line" for him wouldn't work...

He was on the PP against Montreal a couple times. He handled the puck OK, but he missed the net or got blocked consistently with his big shot. He cleared the zone with one miss.

Brouwer is net front. Stone would be the Brodie replacement, or the Versteeg replacement.

You make a good point. This is the only thing that makes sense to me as well. Maybe they have tried it in practice and he doesn't have the hands to get himself out of trouble if the penalty killers pressure him too much?

I agree, but the reality is that in a salary cap world you have to take into consideration his salary. Being a 4th liner is simply not good enough, and putting him on your top power play is just bad coaching.

Perhaps it's because Stone's bombs often miss the net which is an issue on the PP

No he should be on the halfwall instead of Ferland with your choice of Brouwer or Ferland as the net front presence
