GM Walsh has sent defenceman Alex Khavanov to the Blue Jackets in exchange for gritty forward Ville Nieminen. This is a good deal from our side, Alex's lack of nhl status, forced us into making the deal and we are very pleased to get a quality nhler and cphler for alex. We wish him all the best in Ohio.

Jackets wanted a decent depth defenceman and didn't want to spend any money to do it, so we decided to move pending UFA Niemenen for another one in Khavanov. We feel Khavanov will be a good fit for our team and wish Ville luck in the peg. They'll enjoy his goofy antics.
