McLellan then started sneaking McDavid out on other lines a bit too.

Fun fact...

Not only did we not beat the Oilers since he got here, we only held a lead against them for just over 20 minutes last year. So, in 4 games, we lead them for 20 minutes in total....

One of the biggest problems with Gulutzan is he never has the team ready to play. This season the Flames have scored first in only 10 of 26 games. Of those games they have won 8 of them, so getting on the scoreboard first is obviously something important to their success. This is a team that digs itself a hole way too often. It is beyond frustrating to watch.

They have had the lead heading into the 3rd period just 3 times in their 26 games. That's worst in the nhl, with the next worst teams having at least double that (6).

This team too nervous and wound up to start most games on time.

Rhett makes an alright point about Freddie. If they were keeping him around so Dougie plays better, they can get rid of him now.

Its funny how this is just so obviously wrong to everyone except the coaching staff

Not kind to Hamonic as well. Basically called him a disappointment. Said Stone has basically been their most consistent defenseman. I can't say I disagree although Gio to me hasn't been that bad even if his offense has dried up. After Gio and Stone it's been hard to watch on a nightly basis.

Unless he has somehow lost the room (i don't think he has), he has done ok and is not going anywhere. Not great, but certainly not as bad as some of the 'professional hockey coaches' in this thread believe.

Lets face it, it is a pretty young team with promising talent. There are going to have inconsistent nights regardless to who is coaching them.

If we miss the playoffs, I support getting the pitchforks out. It is a long season with highs and lows. He rallied the troops from a very poor start last year, I suspect they respond with a strong finish off a decent start this year.

As far as the odd comment about Treliving being a questionable GM, I think he has manage his assets very well, and there is NO one at this point who I would rather have instead of him...period...end of sentence...exclamation point...end of discussion and drop the mic.

I find it funny that this is a problem that is hung on the coach. He has been very vocal about it in the media and obviously what he has been doing isn't working well but this is 100% on the players. They need to get their asses together and get mentally prepared to play the damn game. Gulutzan is in a position to direct but if the players are going to continue to be incompetent there is only so much he can do.

He could start by sitting players to light a fire under them. Or changing his player utilization, thinking if Brower on the first unit pp here.

If the team is so mentally weak that they can't get ready for games then a players coach in GG is the wrong choice, plain and simple.
