As preposterous as that sounds it's true but I feel they really solidified after replacing Wideman with Stone later in the season. Hamonic unfortunately has been a downgrade on Engelland as that's the main difference.

Expect a better next 2 periods as Calgary is usually a little lethargic on the first home game after a long road trip.

Okay sports Gods. I would say that is quite enough of the fluky ####ing bounces for Toronto teams against Calgary teams for awhile!!

Flames are way too comfortable in front of poor smith. Compare the first period with how the flames played in front of rittich. They need to help smith out way more

Good thing it isn't the coaching staff's job to prepare their team for a game, because otherwise they'd be bad at it.

You guys know that the Leafs score a ton of goals and that they're primarily built around offense, yes?
It's not that the defense is that terrible, it's that Leafs have a lot of guys who can bring it.
Roman Polak scored....who saw that coming? I'll take the Flames keeping the big guns of the Leafs off the scoreboard, even if it did require some big saves from Smith.

So because they had a couple of sloppy plays a good 5 minutes before the goal, they deserve to have a 1/1000 fluke shot go in? Solid reasoning.

I thought the Flames actually looked quite good in the 1st half of the period, but their ineffective PP combined with an excellent Leafs PP handed the momentum to Toronto. Smith was incredible on that PK.
Flames just need to get back on the forecheck and start putting pucks on net.

What in the actual bloody hell? You can't be serious. Ol' Deryk "all I can do is ice the puck" Engelland?

Umm actually it is. This is the worst Flames defence I can remember in a long time.

Time for accountability. The third line poops the bed and misses their assignments, then bench someone. It's not hard. Also, Brouwer on the third line is so sad.

I am. Would take him back in a heartbeat over Hamonic and kept the draft picks.

Dude I'm 17 and I can remember a worse defense
It was called "Chris Butler on the top pairings"

Ok, now you're just attempting to be a contrarian. This is just simply not true.

I actually agree with him. Hamonic hasn’t been very good. Pretty comparable thus far
