If all he gets is 1 game for an even worse crosscheck then the one against Anaheim last year I’ll be blown away at the ‘justice’ of this league or the lack there of.

1. He’s about 40 NHL games removed from when he last did this
2. He crosschecked Tkachuk once and missed his head, he didn’t need to reload the crosscheck and come directly downward into his head but he did
3. Repeat offender; should consistently increase games especially because it’s the same illegal act as his most recent previous suspension.

He should get 5 games, I think he’ll get 4 but if he gets any less than that this league will continue to disappoint on the the players safety and disciplinary aspect.

How do these hearings work?

Does the NHL only want to hear the offender's (Landeskog) side of the story, or do they also consult Tkachuk/the Flames and/or the match officials to get their take of the incident?

Here is the hit on Tkachuk. Didn’t see it posted.
Landeskog looking right at Tkachuk just before crosscheck to face. No way it was accidental "thinking Tkachuk's shoulder was higher" and stick slipped higher to neck level.

Should be 5 games as super dangerous play with intent.

Not that it should make a big difference in his punishment, but Saturday was his 104th game played since his last suspension. It was in March 2016.

Tkachuk still kept on chewing the mouth guard. The guy is committed to each facet of his game.

I'll bet he doesn't even get a game. To me it doesn't look intentional, didn't start a brawl, didn't get a five minute major and despite doing something similar before doesn't have a "reputation".

It's really just a dart throw anyway, like they throw a dart at a board with various suspension lenghts.

Just not obvious that it is intentional. That is what the NHL is going to say. I hope it's suspension worthy, but I have zero faith in the NHL in the discipline department.

So he's either wack-happy, or just careless with his lumber?
I'd give him a couple of games for either.

Trust is, he only put his hand to his face at the end because he didn't want the mouth guard to fall out.

Landeskog will definitely get suspended. I don't think there is any doubt there. The real question is for how long? I am guessing 3 games.

Tkachuk skated away under his own power appearing no worse for wear.

I'm betting its only a fine. Sadly.

I'm assuming this is a telephone hearing. I'd like to see 3 games, I'm expecting 1.
